  • Publication number: 20230082511
Abstract: In a first aspect, the present invention is directed to a rubber composition comprising 70 phr to 95 phr of styrene butadiene rubber comprising at least 5 phr of a first styrene butadiene rubber having a glass transition temperature within a range of ?49° C. to ?15° C. and at least 45 phr of a second styrene butadiene rubber having a glass transition temperature within a range of ?50° C. to ?89° C., wherein the rubber composition comprises more of the second styrene butadiene rubber than of the first styrene butadiene rubber. Moreover, the rubber composition comprises 5 phr to 30 phr of one or more of natural rubber and synthetic polyisoprene; 135 phr to 200 phr of silica; and at least 55 phr of at least one hydrocarbon resin comprising at least one terpene resin having a glass transition temperature of at least 30° C.

  • Publication number: 20190225778
Abstract: This invention relates to a tire with high performance tread of rubber composition for promoting tread durability and traction. For such purpose, a tread rubber composition is provided which contains a high Tg solvent solution polymerization prepared styrene/butadiene elastomer (SSBR) together with precipitated silica reinforcement and traction resin. The invention includes extension of the uncured high Tg SSBR by triglyceride vegetable oil instead of petroleum based oil.

  • Publication number: 20130163368
Abstract: A mixing apparatus for manufacturing a rubber compound is disclosed. The mixing apparatus comprises a plurality of multiple shaft extruder devices, each comprising at least one inlet for receiving a plurality of materials to be fed into the extruder device and an outlet for discharging a mixed material extruded by the extruder device. The multiple shaft extruder devices are either arranged in such a way that operatively the extrudate of at least one of the plurality of multiple shaft extruder devices can be fed into the inlet of at least one other of plurality of multiple shaft extruder devices, or are arranged to operate in parallel in such a way that operatively the extrudates of the plurality of multiple shaft extruder devices can be fed together into the inlet of at least one further mixing device.

  • Publication number: 20130161857
Abstract: A process of manufacturing a rubber compound is disclosed. The process comprises providing a multiple shaft extruder device; feeding the multiple shaft extruder device with at least one polymer raw material or with a mixture of at least two different polymer raw materials; feeding the multiple shaft extruder device with at least one further raw material; mixing the at least one polymer raw material or the mixture of the different polymer raw materials and the at least one further raw material in the multiple shaft extruder device to prepare a rubber compound; and extruding the rubber compound from the multiple shaft extruder device. A plurality of multiple shaft extruder devices may be used in parallel or in sequence.
