Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, for augmentation of streaming media. A method includes receiving streaming media, applying a speech-to-text recognizer to the received streaming media, identifying keywords, determining topics, and augmenting speech elements with one or more content items. The one or more content items cab be placed temporally to coincide with speech elements. The method can also include converting the speech elements into text and generating a text-searchable representation of the streaming media.

Keywords are identified within the content elements and used to identify a set of topics related to the content elements. A query string comprising the keywords is executed against the content elements and in response to a request to display information about a topic the query string associated with the topic is executed against the collection of multimedia content elements to identify content elements related to the topic. A dynamically-created web page is displayed that includes computer-executable links to the set of related multimedia content elements.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for reindexing media content for search applications that includes steps and structure for providing a speech recognition database that include entries defining acoustical representations for a plurality of words; providing a searchable database containing a plurality of metadata documents descriptive of a plurality of media resources, each of the plurality of metadata documents including a sequence of speech recognized text indexed using the speech recognition database; updating the speech recognition database with at least one word candidate; and reindexing the sequence of speech recognized text for a subset of the plurality of metadata documents using the updated speech recognition database.

Abstract: A computerized method and apparatus for providing a virtual media channel based on media search is featured. The method and apparatus features the steps of, or structure for, obtaining a set of rules that define instructions for obtaining media content that comprise the content for a media channel, the set including at least one rule with instructions to include media content resulting from a search; searching for candidate media content according to a search query defined by the at least one rule; and merging one or more of the candidate media content resulting from the search into the content for the media channel. The candidate media content can include segments of the media content resulting from the search. The set of rules can additionally include a rule with instructions to add media content from a predetermined location.

Abstract: A system for forming a database indexed with content-based parameters, corresponding to recordings of contacts to a contact center, includes an analysis unit, a mining unit, and a correlation unit. The analysis unit performs automated-portion analysis techniques to ascertain predetermined events occurring in recordings of automated portions of the contacts to the contact center. The mining unit performs audio mining of recordings of agent portions of the contacts to the contact center. The correlation unit correlates an event occurring in an agent portion of the recordings with a corresponding one of a plurality of content-based parameters selected to be used as indices of the database, and makes an entry in the database based on the correlated event and the corresponding content-based parameter.
