    Abstract: A data processing method in a receiver of a communication system, a receiver and a network element is provided. A receiver of a communication system includes: means for estimating interference of a received signal, means for formulating components of an interference covariance matrix from the received signal, means for carrying out iterative calculation by a systolic array where partial computational results are forwarded from one calculation module to the next calculation module so that the result of the iterative calculation being the inverse matrix of the interference covariance matrix, wherein the inverse matrix is used in channel equalization.
