Abstract: A network management system which is capable of visually grasping the static and dynamic dependent relation between pieces of network equipment, the direction of dependence, and the setting of the degree or frequency of dependence.The network management system comprises a first data base where information about the physical disposition of the network equipment is stored, a second data base where information about the logical and static connection relation of the network equipment is stored, a third data base where information about the logical and dynamic connection status of the network equipment is stored, and a display unit for displaying various kinds of pieces of information about the network and a network form drawing.

Abstract: A network management system can detect a security hole on the network and take necessary measures against such a security hole. When the security hole is detected on the network, the security hole is displayed on a drawing of the network configuration. Further, the network management system displays the status of connection from the outside network, the contents of accesses to the computer and the network device, the status of access to the network environment maintenance file, and the status of login procedures executed with the privileged user.

Abstract: A system for operating and managing the network equipment is so adapted as to operate and manage a network in which plural computers and network devices are connected to each other. The system is provided with database storing data corresponding to the computers and the network devices and with means for preparing a network specification drawing which satisfies conditions required by the user from the data, for checking the physical data as to whether the network specification satisfies the physical data, for checking the logical data as to whether the network specification satisfies the logical data, and for displaying the network specification drawing in a two-dimensional or three-dimensional manner on the basis of the data stored in the database. The system for operating and managing the network equipment can reduce and simplify management business for network managers as well as management business for managing materials and products by managers managing the materials and products.
