  • Patent number: 11153162
Abstract: A multi-function communications network includes a front-end communications network in signal communication with a plurality of communication nodes. Each communication node includes a plurality of discrete network elements. One or more network element adapters are in signal communication with a respective network element among the plurality of discrete network elements. A network management system is in signal communication with the network element adapters. The network management system is configured to generate reconfiguration parameters in response to an operating disruption of at least one affected node among the plurality of communication nodes. At least one of the network elements included in the affected node is reconfigured based at least in part on the reconfiguration parameters.

    Assignee: RAYTHEON COMPANY
Inventors: Jagannath Chirravuri, John P. Denorscia, Richard William Smith, Marina Gurevich, Michael Gibbons
  • Patent number: 11057170
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for implementing a hybrid communications network including both radar and radio communications devices. These systems and methods may advantageously include shared resource allocation protocols for automatically allocating communication resources for transmitting and/or receiving a signal using a device in the network based on one or more dimensions of separability for the signal selected from time-division, frequency-division, spatial-division and/or code-division multiplexing. Importantly, the resource allocation protocol may account for radar specific operational parameters of one or more radar devices in the network.

  • Patent number: 8330645
Abstract: A radar activation multiple access system and method is provided that includes a plurality of radar participant nodes wirelessly connected and forming a radar network and a multiple access unit in communication with the radar network. The multiple access unit includes a scheduler component, a synch component, a priority component and a radar activation component. The scheduler component is configured to schedule a period of operation having a plurality of time divisions within the period of operation. The synch component is configured to synchronize the radar participant nodes within the period of operation. The priority component is configured to assign a priority to individual radar participant nodes in the radar network. The radar activation component is communicatively connected to the radar network and configured to determine a contentious state at a time division in the period of operation.

  • Publication number: 20090122766
Abstract: In a Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET), nested weighted round robin queues are employed to selectively provide channel access for traffic according to a priority or Quality of Service (QoS) for data. By nesting queues within other queues, and applying a weighted round robin technique to serve each queue, relatively arbitrary service metrics may be achieved including nodal QoS for class-based traffic, avoidance of queue starvation, and so forth. Prioritized queues may also be provided for preemptive delivery of high priority traffic.
