  • Patent number: 5207183
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for removing fleas and other debris from a domestic animal's skin while grooming the animal's hair is disclosed. A pair of spaced wedge-shaped frame members contain a motor and a speed reducer there between which together serve to rotate an endless belt around front and rear members of the frame of the device. The endless belt is constructed of the hook material of a hook and hook fastener material arranged in alternate rows of convexly curved, semi-flexible but resilient raised portions. A cleaning brush removes the fleas and debris from the endless belt and deposits the same in a removable receptacle. The endless belt arrangement results in undulating motion of the belt along the hair and skin of an animal in performing the flea-rid cleaning and grooming functions.
