Publication number: 20190050786Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are direct to computer methods and systems that optimally assign resources for facilitating the execution of tasks. The methods and systems filter available resources for executing a task based on at least one criterion, to produce a set of selected resources. The methods and systems, for each of the selected resources, calculate an impact value associated with assigning the respective selected resource to execute the task. The methods and systems rank the selected resources according to the calculated impact values and generate an optimized schedule for the task based on the ranking of the selected resources. The methods and systems may further program a computer application or cause operation of a device in accordance with the generated optimized schedule for executing the task.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 10, 2017Publication date: February 14, 2019Inventors: Marino Muser, Manoj Vadicharla, Ashutosh Shekhar

Patent number: 9514447Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes storing a plurality of scheduled elements in a memory area, displaying a time horizon via a display device, and displaying a first portion of the plurality of scheduled elements within the time horizon. In response to a user input, the time horizon is adjusted and a second portion of the plurality of scheduled elements is displayed within the adjusted time horizon.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 2011Date of Patent: December 6, 2016Assignee: Dassault Systemes Americas Corp.Inventors: Judson Michael Plapp, Marino Muser

Patent number: 8832551Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes creating a video record of user interactions with a computer program, and displaying a control area configured to receive a rewind user command and an advance user command. In response to receiving the rewind user command, the computer program reverts to a first state that is prior to at least one of the recorded user interactions. In response to receiving the advance user command, the computer program progresses to a second state that is between the first state and a last-known state of the computer program.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 2012Date of Patent: September 9, 2014Assignee: Dassault Systemes Americas Corp.Inventor: Marino Muser

Patent number: 8095886Abstract: When navigating in a screen view composed of entities of differing types, a user may want to focus on any particular entity. Depending on the type of entity the user wants to focus on, the invention system adapts the screen view, as well as navigation behavior, to navigate the desired entity. This is accomplished without explicit action from the user like running a command and selecting the desired entity. Accordingly, a computer method and computer corresponding apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention are provided to capture the user's intention to navigate the desired entity and to change the screen view and the navigation behavior. For example, when the user navigates an entity of a given type and the desired entity occupies a greater percentage of the screen view or becomes closer to the desired entity, the screen view and the navigation behavior change conveniently without explicit action from the user.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2008Date of Patent: January 10, 2012Assignee: Dassault Systemes DELMIA Corp.Inventors: Marino Muser, Michael L. Morgenstein, Francois Perroux

Patent number: 8095229Abstract: Manufacturing process planning is usually considered as not intuitive for non-expert user. This is because a user needs to deal with processes, describing a work to be done, and other abstract concepts that are loosely related to the real world. Accordingly, a method and corresponding apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention are provided to describe a work to be done in response to a user interacting with a three-dimensional representation of one or more parts that form a product and to provide the user with feedback in the form of a graphical representation of the work to be done. This approach is very intuitive as it is close to how a user would, for example, in a real world, decompose a product into sub-assemblies that essentially results into a definition of a manufacturing process of the product.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2008Date of Patent: January 10, 2012Assignee: Dassault Systemes DELMIA Corp.Inventors: Marino Muser, Pascal Lecland, Albert Wang, Patrick Merlat
