  • Patent number: 9373168
Abstract: An intelligent autofocus method and device for a digital pathology image, method are device are able to couple a feedback from the behavior of the user, for example by gaze tracking arrangement, to the actually focal representation of an image and adjust the imaging setup accordingly with regard to the focal plane. The adjustment is performed in such a way that the focal plane is selected which optimizes and sharpens the actual object of interest which was previously determined.

    Assignee: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS N.V.
Inventors: Marinus Bastiaan Van Leeuwen, Jelte Peter Vink
  • Patent number: 9107569
Abstract: The invention provides for a medical instrument for examining the cervix comprising an optical examination system, a processor for controlling the medical instrument, and a memory containing machine executable instructions. Execution of the instructions causes the processor to: acquire a cervical image using the optical examination system; calculate a set of interest point locations using a digital filter; calculate a filtered set of interest point locations using the set of interest point locations and a morphological filter; calculate a reduced set of interest points locations using the filtered set of interest point locations and a neighborhood based filter; calculate a classified set of interest point locations reduced set of interest points and a trained classification module; calculate a set of punctation locations using the classified set of interest point locations and a second neighborhood based filter; and calculate punctation mark regions using the punctation point locations.

  • Publication number: 20140334711
Abstract: A system for processing an image comprises a region detector (1). The region detector comprises an artifact detector (7) for detecting a region comprising an artifact in the image. The system comprises a parameter determining unit (2) for determining a parameter, based on a portion of the image excluding the detected region. The system comprises an image processing module (3) for processing the image, using the derived parameter. The system comprises a display unit (5) for displaying the processed image with an indication of the detected region. The parameter determined by the parameter determining unit (2) can comprise a normalization parameter, and the image processing module (3) can be arranged for performing a normalization of the image according to the normalization parameter.
