  • Publication number: 20220397409
Abstract: A method for enabling a route for automated driving operation of a vehicle involves enabling a route ahead of the vehicle for automated driving operation of the vehicle if it is determined, using a digital map, which is used during automated driving operation for landmark-based localization of the vehicle, that there are landmarks present along the route which, with regard to their suitability for longitudinal and transverse localization of the vehicle, fulfil requirements which are predefined according to a course of the route.

  • Patent number: 8346456
Abstract: In a method for controlling the driving speed of a vehicle that has a speed control device into which a set speed can be entered as driver command, a reference variable of the speed control device is varied within a specified or specifiable speed range of the set speed, based on an evaluation of a section of the road ahead of the driver and maintaining a minimum fuel usage in a first operating mode of the speed control device.

  • Patent number: 7873467
Abstract: A sensor arrangement which contains for a vehicle control system, comprises a buffer for geographic information, whereby the geographic information is suitable to describe at least one possible route of the vehicle. An input interface selects subsets of the geographic information stored in the buffer in response to at least one position-related parameter which is entered at the input interface. An output interface selects subsets of the geographic information corresponding to the parameter values provided, which subsets are transmitted for further processing in the vehicle control system.

  • Publication number: 20070126605
Abstract: A method of updating a digital map comprising elements of a traffic route network, in a user end device on which at least one user application of the digital map runs, using a second digital map which is arranged in a control center, in which only a subset of elements of the digital map required for a current user application is updated in close to real time conditions when the elements of the digital map are required by a current user application. Since the user end device can precisely delimit the element subset required for a current user application, only minimum data transmission is required.

  • Publication number: 20060100780
Abstract: The invention involves a sensor device for a vehicle control system, comprisig -a buffer for geographic information, whereby the geographic information is suitable to describe at least one possible route of the vehicle, -an input interface to select subsets of the geographic information stored in the buffer, whereby the selection is effected by the provision of at least one position-related parameter at the input interface, -an output interface to select subsets of the geographic information corresponding to the parameter values provided, whereby the output information is sent for further processing in the vehicle control system.

  • Publication number: 20050256639
Abstract: A method for dynamically navigating a vehicle to its destination, whereby a vehicle-mounted device wirelessly requests route-related data for a driving destination from a traffic center, whereupon the traffic center calculates and stores a route to the driving destination for the vehicle and wirelessly transmits route-related data to the vehicle-mounted device. At least one interruption in traffic flow, which is not located on the calculated route, is monitored in the traffic center and the calculated route is, at least in part, recalculated in the event this interruption in traffic flow eases.

  • Patent number: 6240364
Abstract: A method and a device for providing traffic information for a given vehicle in a road network whereby, starting with a given starting location and starting time, current and forecast traffic data are determined at a traffic center and prepared in such fashion that they can be transmitted to a given vehicle. Traffic data present at the traffic center, which include at least the current and forecast functional values of a traffic-dependent cost function for the individual route paths, is used to calculate, as a function of the starting location and the starting time, a cost function optimized route to each route path. A corresponding arrival time is then determined to each route path. The cost function value that belongs to each determined arrival time is then selected. The cost function values thus selected are prepared, if necessary, with additional traffic data as traffic information that can be transmitted.
