    Abstract: A composition for stabilizing halogen-containing polymers, in particular polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (C-PVC) is described which includes a) disodium adipate, and b) at least one compound such as M(ClO4)k and (CF3SO3)nM where M is H+, Li+, Na+, K+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Ba2+, Zn2+, Al3+ or NH4+ and k and n are 1, 2 or 3 depending on the valency of M. Also described is a halogenated resin in a rigid or plasticized formulation having a halogen-containing polymer and a stabilizing composition.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a new process for preparing PVC in aqueous suspension wherein the polymerisation reaction of monovinyl chloride is conducted in the presence of: a) a suspending system A comprising at least one polyvinyl alcohol having a hydrolysis degree between 25% and 98%, an acrylic polymer and, optionally, a polymeric plasticizer; and b) a suspending system B comprising at least one polyvinyl alcohol having a hydrolysis degree between 25% and 70% and a hydrotalcite compound.
