  • Patent number: 6960082
Abstract: The invention relates to a dental device for dilating interdental spaces. The device comprises two interdental matrices that can be inserted into interdental spaces two retaining arrangements to retain the interdental matrices, and a spacer device for guiding the retaining means in parallel and for separating teeth. The device provides access to the mesial and distal tooth surfaces in the areas of the interdental spaces and prevents gingival injuries and damages to the dental enamel caused by pressure. The device can be used in prophylactic or restorative odontotherapeutical methods.

  • Publication number: 20050130099
Abstract: A dental instrument with interchangeable roller tips for distributing restorative materials on a tooth surface quickly, precisely and homogeneously with little adherence of the restorative material to the instrument. The instrument has an elongate body with a handle portion and one or two working ends extending therefrom with a roller tip rotatably mounted on each working end. The roller tip may be removable from the working end, such that differently shaped tips may be used interchangeably during the restoration of the tooth, as necessary. The roller tip may rotate directly about the working end, or alternatively, a bushing or bearing may be rotatably mounted on the working end between the working end and the roller tip, such that the roller tip is rotatable on the working end by means of the rotatable bushing or bearing.

  • Publication number: 20030130605
Abstract: The medical instrument for the application of liquids to teeth includes a handle portion and a treating portion, the treating portion comprising a highly elastic sponge. In a preferred embodiment, the treating portion is connected to the handle portion by a ball joint. The use of a sponge allows an optimum application of the liquid on and in cavities without leaving residual material. The presence of a ball joint allows a safe treatment also in locations that are difficult to access otherwise.

  • Publication number: 20020192619
Abstract: The invention relates to a dental device (1) for dilating the interdental spaces (7, 8). The inventive dental device (1) comprises two interdental matrices (4, 5) for insertion into the interdental spaces (7, 8), two retaining means (2, 3) for the interdental matrices (4, 5) and a spacer device (6, 6′, 60, 61, 60b, 61b, 90, 91) for guiding the retaining means (2,3) in parallel and for separating next but one adjacent teeth (111, 112). Unlike conventional wedges, the inventive dental device (1) allows a better access to the mesial and distal tooth surfaces in the area of the interdental spaces (7, 8) and prevents gingival injuries and damages to the dental enamel caused by the pressure. The embodiments relate to interdental matrices (4, 5) with a window (9), embodiments of the retaining means (2, 3) for detachably fixing the interdental matrices (4, 5) and spacer devices with separator screws (6, 6′, 60, 61) and guide pins (60b, 61b, 90, 91).
