Patent number: 12539957Abstract: An emergency backup power source for an electrically controlled and motorized window shade unit includes an input power switch, and charge and discharge control circuit, and a supercapacitor bank. During normal operation a nominal voltage level from a main power source of the aircraft is provided directly to the window shade unit through the input power switch, and the supercapacitor bank is charged. The input voltage is monitored by the emergency backup power source, which controls the input power switch. When the input voltage drops below a threshold level, the input power switch is opened and the charge and discharge circuit operates to provide an emergency output voltage to the window shade unit from the supercapacitor bank so that the window shade can be fully opened or closed, as is required.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 2023Date of Patent: February 3, 2026Assignee: AEROSPACE TECHNOLOGIES GROUP, INC.Inventors: Mario Ceste, Mohamed Mohamed

Publication number: 20080063769Abstract: A device and method for automated frying of foods is provided. The device includes a fry vat for containing and heating cooking oil, at least one circular fry wheel with a plurality of compartments having openings towards the perimeter of the fry wheel, a drive mechanism for rotating the fry wheel, and an overflow passageway located above a normal operating level of cooking oil in the fry vat. The fry wheel rotates about a radial axis disposed above the normal operating level of the cooking oil. A control mechanism for causing the drive mechanism to rotate the fry wheel back and forth to simulate shaking of a fry basket may be included. A food inlet is preferably included adjacent the overflow passageway or a foam deck including the overflow passageway. In a preferred method, the fry wheel submerges food in cooking oil and shakes the submerged food in a fry basket.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 2, 2007Publication date: March 13, 2008Inventors: Gerald Sus, Glenn Schackmuth, Craig Conley, Ron Dorsten, Henry Ewald, Jenny Hong, Mario Ceste, John Corliss, Andrew Courier, William Day, Doug Jones, James Lozouski, Roberto Nevarez, Curtis Pinnow, Keith Stanger, Joseph Goodwin

Publication number: 20080061072Abstract: A device and method are provided for dispensing a quantity of food to be cooked. The device includes a freezer, a storage container located in the freezer, means located in the freezer for dispensing a predetermined quantity of food from the storage container into a secondary container, and means for dispensing the quantity of food from the secondary container to a location outside the freezer. The means for dispensing a predetermined quantity of food may be, for example, a magazine with dual spiral flights for dispensing food items one at a time, or a vibratory conveyor cooperating with a device for determining a quantity of food in the secondary conveyor and means for terminating the dispensing when a predetermined quantity of food is sensed. The secondary container may have an opening in its bottom and be movable laterally to align its opening with an opening in the freezer.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 2, 2007Publication date: March 13, 2008Inventors: Gerald Sus, Glenn Schackmuth, Craig Conley, Ron Dorsten, Henry Ewald, Jenny Hong, David Bone, Brian Rudesill, Mario Ceste, Doug Greening, Kevin Keough, John Meisner, Curtis Pinnow, John Wedel

Publication number: 20080060715Abstract: An automated method of packaging cooked French fries in an individual portion-sized French fry container is provided, wherein the cooked French fries are mechanically delivered to a holding bin, an empty French fry container is mechanically scooped into the cooked French fries to fill the container, and the filled French fry container is mechanically deposited at a drop-off location. The cooked French fries may be received on an inlet chute, the inlet chute optionally vibrated to assist gravity in causing the French fries to travel into the holding bin. Seasoning may be applied to the French fries while the French fries are on the inlet chute, optionally restrained by one or more gates. After filling, the filled container may be mechanically shaken. Additionally, the empty French fry containers may be mechanically selected from a plurality of different-sized collapsed containers, mechanically obtained, and mechanically erected prior to scooping.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 2, 2007Publication date: March 13, 2008Inventors: Gerald Sus, Glenn Schackmuth, Craig Conley, Ron Dorsten, Henry Ewald, Jenny Hong, Mario Ceste, William Day, Benny Nunley, Curtis Pinnow, Charles Rose, Chris Coul, Mike Zizas, Dusan Ivancevic, Gregery Billman, Steve Yagla

Publication number: 20060288039Abstract: A set of programs is disclosed comprising a web display interface program (WIP), a Display Configuration Program (DCP) and a Sequence Logging Program (SLP). Responsive to user actions, the set of programs provide instructions to a server connected to storage containing a facet tree database and a rules database. The WIP comprises a user interface and a set of servlets that read the facet element to be displayed from the facet tree database, and based upon the user characteristics, acquire the appropriate display rules for the user from the rules database. The DCP allows an administrator to select or configure rules that will establish views for different end users that are tailored to those particular end users. The SLP allows end users to navigate through a set of facets using a standard faceted search, or using a previously constructed sequence of facets, and logs the user choices for later use.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 24, 2005Publication date: December 21, 2006Inventors: Joel Acevedo-Aviles, Mario Ceste, John Handy-Bosma, J. Publication number: 20060271565Abstract: A tagging application (TA) is disclosed that comprises a web interface program (WIP) and a tagging program (TP). The WIP presents the facet tree by displaying elements of the facet tree selected by the user along with a known activation method for the user to select a facet element and to assign a value to the selected facet or facet element. The user may proceed to manually tag each facet and facet element by selecting a value representing the facet element to be tagged. The user may also eliminate manual selection of many of the facets and facet elements by choosing a tagging scenario and then applying the tagging scenario. Once the user has selected a tagging scenario, and has indicated that it is to be applied to the facet element, the TP takes the selected value and applies the selected tagging scenario to populate the tagging for the user in accordance with the tagging scenario. Once the tagging has been populated, the tagging program returns the tagged facet tree to the user at the user interface.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 24, 2005Publication date: November 30, 2006Inventors: Joel Acevedo-Aviles, Mario Ceste, John Handy-Bosma, J.
