  • Patent number: 5762701
Abstract: Storing, transporting and dispensing of silica fume containing pozzolanic compositions can be improved by mixing an amount of water in the range of 2 to 25% with the silica fume containing composition so that a uniform humidified powder is obtained. The treated silica fume containing composition has higher bulk gravity and better flow characteristics.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 10, 1992
Date of Patent: June 9, 1998
    Assignee: MBT Holding AG
    Inventors: Stefano Biagini, Mario Collepardi
  • Patent number: 5492659
Abstract: Process for the production of concrete tiles by cutting a block of concrete mixture, characterized in that the block of mixture is subjected to a preliminary curing at room temperature for a duration of at least 24 hours or to a low-pressure steam treatment at a temperature <100.degree. C. until the compression strength reaches a value of at least 20 MPa, and to a second treatment with steam in an autoclave. The cement tiles thus obtained may be bonded to the floor using a normal setting layer of cement mortar, without giving rise to any problems of detachment.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: February 20, 1996
    Assignee: Quarella S.R.L.
    Inventor: Mario Collepardi
  • Patent number: 5362324
Abstract: A superplasticizing additive for concrete and other cementitious mixes with high retention of workability (low "slump loss") and low air-entraining effect, is made by terpolymers of a) (meth)acrylic acid and its salts, b)polyethyleneglycolmonomethylether-(meth)acrylate and c) polypropyleneglycol-di(meth)acrylate.

Date of Patent: November 8, 1994
    Assignee: MAPEI S.p.A.
Inventors: Tiziano Cerulli, Paolo Clemente, Mario Collepardi, Giorgio Ferrari, Pasquale Zaffaroni
  • Patent number: 4915741
Abstract: The fluidizing or water-retention effect of plasticizers and superplasticizers in cement is increased when the cement has been treated with water before the mixing step, so that it retains from 0.1 to 10% by weight of water.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 5, 1986
Date of Patent: April 10, 1990
    Assignee: Sandoz Ltd.
    Inventors: Stefano Biagini, Mario Collepardi
  • Patent number: 4088504
Abstract: A method for producing high strength cement conglomerates is disclosed. Cement conglomerates (pastes, mortars, concretes and the like) having improved mechanical characteristics, are produced in accordance with the invention by adding to a mix of water, binder and aggregates a admixture or composition containing: (1) a polymer obtained by polycondensation of an aldehyde with a water-soluble sulphonic acid of the aromatic series, and (2) a product of the hydrolysis of starch obtained from raw vegetable materials such as maize, wheat, rice, potatoes, etc. Water soluble inorganic electrolytes may advantageously be added to the admixture for significantly improving the characteristics of fluidity and cohesion of the fresh mix, and the characteristics of strength of the hardened mix.

    Assignee: Emesa Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventor: Mario Collepardi
  • Patent number: 4046583
Abstract: Expansive and high strength cementitious pastes, mortars and concretes are produced by adding to a mix of water, cement and aggregates a mixture containing calcium oxide and/or magnesium oxide, a water-reducing agent and an additive for reducing or eliminating bleeding of the fresh mix.
