  • Publication number: 20240050103
Abstract: A system for driving an ultrasonic device for bone cement removal and/or osteotomy operations comprises a control unit, a memory unit, and connection means for connecting together the control unit and a handset of the ultrasonic device. The control unit is configured to send a signal to the handset, receive from the handset a response to the signal sent, and check an operating condition of the ultrasonic device based on this response. Related device, method and computer program are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11882768
Abstract: A handset for an ultrasonic device for bone cement removal and/or osteotomy operations comprises a handset body which encloses ultrasound generating means including at least one piezoelectric transducer and a horn, connection means configured to connect the handset to a tool to which the ultrasounds generated by the ultrasound generating means are transmitted, a duct for circulation of a cooling medium, the duct extending at least partially on the outside of the handset, a triggering element whose activation causes the activation of the ultrasound generating means, and a control lever coupled to the handset body at a connection point, the control lever being configured to activate the triggering element by means of its movement about the connection point.

  • Publication number: 20220160572
Abstract: An improved orthopaedic external fixation system with removable rails or skates and may include: at least a distal foot fixation element; at least a pair of rails or skates removably connected to the foot fixation element; at least a load sensor associated to at least one of the rails or skates; an electronic apparatus coupled to the load sensor and receiving an electric signal from the load sensor; an electronic controller coupled to the apparatus and issuing at least a flag signal upon detection of a threshold pressure force on said at least one of said rails or skates. This electronic controller may be mounted on the orthopaedic system or may be a structurally independent host device including a controller that is in signal communication with the load sensors.

  • Patent number: 9655638
Abstract: The patent is relative to a new instrument for single access laparoscopy that tries to overcome the limits of the present instrumentation used in this technique, that usually allows to use only one forceps, which does not allow to keep the tissues tenses to work with the surgical instrument. To overcome this limitation, the proposed instrument presents two arms, arranged in parallel presenting a diameter equal to half of the main body in the opening direction of the same, while in the direction perpendicular to this these arms can have an higher diameter, provided its shape be entirely circumscribed by the external dimension of the initial body, and each bearing at the tip a forceps, which may be mounted directly on the arms or on two auxiliary arms. The internal mechanism allows opening the two arms, not necessarily in the plane of rotation of the control rings, while the forceps bend toward the inside, keeping their configuration, being all this controlled by a single command.

Two additional commands allow then to open and close the forceps individually, and each command can be locked in any position.
