  • Patent number: 9405254
Abstract: Described herein is a device that generates a beam of light with uniform intensity. The device includes an array of light sources. The light generated passes through a beam splitter. One beam is used for feedback to maintain uniform intensity. The other beam passes through a barrel which is used to mold the beam with uniform intensity into the desired shape and to reduce divergence. The device can be used as part of a quality control system for testing a photoreceptor drum.

  • Patent number: 7030400
Abstract: An apparatus and method for web inspection utilize simultaneous capturing of reflected and transmitted light images for real-time merging of same. The reflected light and transmitted light image capturing systems are registered with each other in terms of the down-web and cross-web field being imaged. To allow for the simultaneous acquisition of reflected and transmitted light images, the imaged portion of the web is an unsupported span, and the web is tensioned to prevent sagging. The reflected light and transmitted light image capturing systems each include multiple cameras registered with each other in terms of down-web and cross-web imaging field, and the cameras for the transmitted light image capturing are aligned directly with the light source, which outputs light that is incident on the web at an angle.

  • Patent number: 6195443
Abstract: A manufacturing system including: (a) a vessel for holding a liquid; (b) a first member and a second member, each having a flat surface, wherein the flat surface of the first member faces and is spaced from the flat surface of the second member, thereby defining a gap region between the two flat surfaces, wherein a section of the first member is transparent through the thickness of the first member; (c) a liquid delivery system connected to the vessel and the gap region which delivers the liquid to the gap region and the liquid flows in the gap region in view of the transparent section of the first member; (d) a camera positioned to view through the transparent section of the first member; (e) image processing means coupled to the camera for determining the homogeneity of the liquid in the gap region; and (f) liquid dispensing equipment connected to the liquid delivery system.
