  • Publication number: 20020006846
Abstract: A linear actuator comprises an electric motor and a screw-and-nut transmission device in which the nut member comprises a planet-carrier member driven in rotation about the axis of the screw, and at least one planet mounted so that it is free to turn on the planet-carrier member about an axis that is parallel to and set at a distance from the axis of the screw. The planet has a plurality of collars set in planes perpendicular to the axis of the screw which engage respective portions of the bottom of the thread of the screw, in such a way that, as a result of the rotation of the planet-carrier member, the planet rolls around the screw forcing the latter to translate axially due to the engagement of each collar against the sides of the respective portion of the thread of the screw.

  • Patent number: 6095449
Abstract: A device for controlling the tension of a yarn includes a gauge measuring tension of the yarn and optionally a brake driven by the tension gauge to vary braking of the yarn. The gauge comprises electromagnetic control means having a moveable control element subject to a force dependent on the tension of the yarn, and a control circuit. The latter circuit supplies the electromagnetic control means with a current so that the moveable control element remains virtually still in a given position, during variations of the yarn tension. This current is indicative of the tension of the yarn and is measured to obtain a measure of the yarn tension. The device can be associated with a yarn feeder having a drum and moveable eyelet coaxial with the drum.

  • Patent number: 5463192
Abstract: A measurement instrument in which, when the initially loaded instrument is partly unloaded in such a fashion that the part load falls in a lower load range with a finer display-scale interval, the instrument continues to use the scale for the larger load until the load is removed completely. When the load is removed completely, however, the display reads "zero" as soon as the result R(m) at calculation stage m satisfies the condition .vertline.R(m).vertline..ltoreq.d.sub.jmax /2 (zero region) where d.sub.jmax is the largest display-scale interval. The next-finer display-scale interval is selected if the difference d.sub.s between two successive results determined at a particular time-interval satisfies the condition d.sub.j .ltoreq.d.sub.2 /10. A zero store is updated to include each result in the zero region.

  • Patent number: 5259253
Abstract: The parallel guide of an elastic force reducing dynamometer comprises a frame secured to a base plate, two essentially parallel plates, a load carrier, and four elastic tie joints. The load carrier supports a balance pan for receiving weights. A load-carrying element is clamped between the upper end of the load carrier and the lower end of the frame. Compressive force exerted on the load carrier is converted into an electric signal. The parallel guide is manufactured from a single piece, for example by profile extrusion or wire erosion. In an alternate embodiment of the invention, the load-carrying element is clamped between the lower end of the load carrier and the upper end of the frame. Tensile force exerted on the load carrier is converted into an electric signal.

  • Patent number: 5050693
Abstract: A balance, which is virtually insensitive to angular deviation and to the presence of additional accelerations of the base, has two dynamometers (2, 3) each having a parallel guide (26). The parallel guides are mutually parallel and their degree of freedom coincides with the direction of gravitational acceleration when the balance is horizontal. The dynamometer (2) measures the weight (M) of the object to be weighed, and the dynamometer (3) measures that of a reference mass (8, 22,24). The balance also has a computer (4) which, from the signals emitted by the two dynamometers (2,3), accurately determines the mass of the object to be weighed independently of the angular deviation of the instantaneous total acceleration. During calibration, which can be carried out only by the manufacturer, the dynamometer (3) determines the weight R.sub.1, R.sub.2 of the reference mass (8, 22, 24) at two different inclinations of the balance and the dynamometer (2) determines the weight (N.sub.1, N.sub.

  • Patent number: 4211295
Abstract: Method and scale are designed for the manual or automatic weighing of objects of the same nominal weight by means of a scale locked over its measuring system, having a computing device for establishing the weight of the goods to be weighed from the digital output signals of mechanical-electrical converters, e.g. from pre-tensioned measuring strings loaded by the weight of said goods, in which if the load on the measuring system is lower or higher than predetermined limits of the load corresponding to said nominal weight, an electromagnetically generated force acts upon the load support of the scale and prevents the overshooting of said pre-determined load limits.
