Publication number: 20140224904Abstract: The present invention provides a foaming nozzle assembly for use with a sprayer. The foaming nozzle includes a nozzle head, a mesh screen, a screen retainer that securely connects the mesh screen to the nozzle head, a nozzle, and a cap nut that interconnects the assembly to a sprayer and retains the nozzle in stable position within the nozzle head and in fluid communication with the liquid in sprayer. The front end of the nozzle head is curved and the mesh screen and screen retainer are correspondingly shaped to create an arcuate spray distribution mechanism. The liquid from the sprayer is dispersed at high velocity by the nozzle towards the mesh screen. Upon impacting the mesh screen, the liquid foams as it exits the assembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 12, 2014Publication date: August 14, 2014Applicant: The Fountainhead Group, Inc.Inventor: Mario J. Patent number: 8104648Abstract: An applicator mixes an additive with a fluid stream and dispenses the resultant mixture. The applicator includes a housing having a fluid inlet, a downstream auger chamber, a downstream mixing chamber, and a flow path fluidly connecting the fluid inlet to the mixing chamber. A turbine auger assembly including an auger and a rotor is rotatably connected to the housing to move the additive towards the mixing chamber, help mix the additive with the fluid stream, and then disperse the mixture to the auger chamber, which includes a hopper port and a downstream auger chamber exit exposed to the mixing chamber. The turbine auger assembly is rotatably connected to the housing.Type: GrantFiled: October 22, 2007Date of Patent: January 31, 2012Assignee: The Fountainhead Group, Inc.Inventors: Mario J. Restive, Jeffrey James Birt, Thomas Lowell Waggoner

Patent number: 8056774Abstract: A fluid dispensing system includes a container, a pump assembly and a bleed valve. The pump assembly is connected to the container selectively pressurizing the container and includes an outlet port. The outlet port has a check valve precluding flow from the container through the outlet port. The bleed valve is in communication with an aperture formed through the container. The bleed valve relieves excess pressure in the container.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 2007Date of Patent: November 15, 2011Assignee: The Fountainhead Group, Inc.Inventors: Joseph F. Arcuri, Mark I. Cushman, George A. Mitchell, Mario J. Restive

Patent number: 7819292Abstract: A fluid dispensing system includes a pump assembly for pressurizing a low cost container, the container non reversibly connected to a coupler module. A wand assembly is releasably connected to the coupler module. A discharge conduit fluidly connects the wand assembly to the container to displace a check valve in the pump assembly to permit flow from the pump assembly. The wand assembly includes a grip body slideable relative to the discharge conduit between a retracted storage position and an extended operable position.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 2006Date of Patent: October 26, 2010Assignee: The Fountainhead Group, Inc.Inventors: Joseph F. Arcuri, Mark I. Cushman, George A. Mitchell, Mario J. Restive

Patent number: 7124915Abstract: A handle assembly for engaging a pressure container having an outlet valve, the handle assembly including a base for engaging the pressure container and a handle pivotally connected to the base so as to locate the pivotal connection at least proximal to a vertical projection of a center of mass of the pressure container. The handle assembly also includes a flow control mechanism for continuous operable engagement with the outlet valve independent of the orientation of the handle and the container about a pivot axis.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 2004Date of Patent: October 24, 2006Assignee: The Fountainhead Group, Inc.Inventor: Mario J. Patent number: 6896203Abstract: A low-flow-rate sprayer assembly is provided, wherein additive from a container is entrained in a stream of carrier fluid passing through a venturi. The pressures created by flow through the venturi actuate a release valve on the container and entrain the additive in the carrier fluid.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 2000Date of Patent: May 24, 2005Assignee: The Fountainhead Group, Inc.Inventor: Mario J. Patent number: 6561438Abstract: A low pressure foaming nozzle assembly having a modular construction for permitting the ready interchange of nozzle tips. The foaming nozzle assembly may be constructed of two pieces, with a first configuration employing a flow body and an engaging nozzle tip and a second configuration employing a pair of mating halves, wherein each mating half includes a portion of a venturi, a throat and a nozzle tip. The assembly cooperatively engages a foaming liquid source such as a wand, and upon pressure on the foaming liquid source, a foam is generated.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2000Date of Patent: May 13, 2003Assignee: The Fountainhead GroupInventors: Mario J. Restive, Aaron Guiliano, George Mitchell

Patent number: 5938116Abstract: A pump sprayer is disclosed for dispensing fluids such as insecticides and herbicides. The sprayer comprises a supply container which holds the fluid to be dispensed, a manually-operated piston pump, a pressure vessel or accumulator, and a manual control valve for controlling fluid dispensed through a spray wand. The accumulator includes an elastomeric bladder which is adapted to accumulate fluid from the pump and to deliver the fluid to the spray wand at a desired pressure. In order to provide a pump sprayer which can deliver fluid at a substantially constant pressure from a fluid supply contained in conventional containers, the pump and elastomeric bladder are configured to pass through the fill openings of the containers and to be secured therein during operation of the sprayer.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 1998Date of Patent: August 17, 1999Assignee: The Fountainhead Group, Inc.Inventors: Mario J.
