  • Patent number: 7311049
Abstract: The present invention regards a conveyor/cooler for hot loose materials produced by boilers and various industrial processes, mainly comprising a sealed metal container (1) connected to a boiler (2) or to an incinerator from which, thanks to the gravitational effect, the material (3) that leaves the combustion chamber falls. Inside of said container (1) a metal conveyor belt (4) is placed whereon the hot loose material (3) to be cooled is placed. The cooling of the material (3) occurs through the feeding of an air flow picked up from the outside environment integrated with atomized water sprinkled on the hot material (3) through a system of injecting nozzles (5) installed inside of the metal container (1).

  • Patent number: 7146915
Abstract: The cooling of the material is mainly achieved through the convective thermal exchange between the loose hot material and the cooling air flow blown in from the outside, and through the conductive thermal exchange between the same material (3) and the conveyor belt (2). In order to improve the efficiency of the cooling process appropriate slots (16) are made into the plates of the conveyor belt, through which the cooling air can be made to flow so as to reach the base of the travelling continuous bed consisting of hot material. Furthermore the abovementioned plates can be equipped with appropriate extensions which operate while immersed into the conveyed material, thus increasing the surface suitable for the conductive thermal exchange.

  • Patent number: 7055674
Abstract: The self-cleaning enclosed belt conveyor for loose materials comprises a mobile belt (10) operatively connected to proper containment walls (2), where mechanical means (1, 15) are provided for, connected to said conveyor belt (10), wherein said mechanical means perform together with a bottom (8) of said containment walls (2) a recovery operation of the loose materials present in the area between the belt (10), the bottom (8) and said containment walls (2), bringing the materials back either to belt's upper stretch or to adequate containment systems.

  • Publication number: 20050126902
Abstract: A system for the extraction, drainage and wet transport of the petroleum coke produced by the coking chambers is described. Such system provides the collection, drainage and transport of the petroleum coke coming from the coking chambers during the cutting phase all the way to the boilers' feeding. The material extracted from the coking chamber (7) through the use of high pressure water is conveyed on the pre-crusher (4) through a connection system (1a). Between the pre-crusher (4) and the draining belt conveyor (2) there is a drainage and containment hopper (1) which has the dual function of accumulation and possible drainage thanks to some holes that serve as weir. The material which falls from above in different sizes, after having being reduced in size by the pre-crusher (4), gets transported by the belt (2) that carries out a first drainage phase through the holes made on the same belt. The coke is collected on the belt while the drained water is collected in a lower collection channel (8).

  • Patent number: 6230633
Abstract: A conveyor/cooler of hot loose materials produced by fluid bed boilers and various industrial processes includes one or more feeding channels, which are substantially vertical or at any inclination. Because of gravity, the material leaves the combustion chamber of the boiler. A metallic container is connected to the downstream end of the discharging channels. A metallic conveyor belt driven by a motor is placed within the container, and the material from the downstream end of the channels is laid on the conveyor belt, thus forming a travelling continuous bed. The belt therefore constitutes a regenerative heat exchanger which absorbs heat from the material during the forward run and gives it back to the air during the backward run.

  • Patent number: 5255615
Abstract: A system for discharging ash comprises a hopper provided with a system of hydraulically activated valves having the function of separating the hopper environment from the extractor environment, thereby creating an accumulation store inside the hopper which allows brief shutdowns for any required maintenance in the downstream extractor and the plant, and which prevents the direct falling of large lumps of agglomerated ash onto the belt and also, in the case of a multifuel boiler, avoids radiation to the extraction belt when gas or oil is used as fuel. Downstream of the area of ash discharge from the extractor a system of crushing, cooling, transport and storage of the ash is also provided.
