Near opposite ends, the cross member carries two articulated clamps for gripping suspended clothes. Top extensions of the clamps receive between them wedging elements carried by flexible arms attached to the cross member and held normally out of engagement with the clamps until the flexible arms are depressed. The clamping action of each clamp can be independently regulated. Simplicity and economy of manufacturing are featured.
