  • Patent number: 8262194
Abstract: An inkjet printer (10) comprising: an inkjet printing head (32); a service station (101) provided for the maintenance of the printing head (32) and having a protective cap (102), in turn adapted to be coupled in contact with a front surface (32b, 32c) of the printing head (32) to protect it; and a cleaning device (110), associated with the service station, wherein the cleaning device (110) comprises a receptacle (104) adapted to be moved between a first operative position (P5), in which the receptacle (104) is arranged between the protective cap (102) and the front surface of the printing head (32) to receive a determined amount of ink ejected, in the form of drops, by the printing head (32) during programmed cleaning cycles, and a second operative position (P6), in which the receptacle (104) is laterally displaced with respect to the protective cap (102), to allow the contact coupling between the printing head (32) and the protective cap (102).

  • Patent number: 7513611
Abstract: A station for storing and refilling a cartridge of a printhead has a container in which a seat is arranged for accommodating the cartridge to be refilled; the ink for refilling being contained in a collection chamber located in the bottom part of the container. The collection chamber communicates freely with a back-flow compartment located at the top, surrounding the housing and in free communication with the chamber. The feeding is effected by means of a capillary element contained inside an impermeable sheath extending vertically into the collection chamber and arranged centrally in a symmetrical position with respect to the base of the container. The capillary element penetrates into the housing in contact with the sponge of the cartridge to transfer the ink through capillarity. Feeding takes place solely and exclusively with the container in the vertical position whereas in any other position the ink flows into the back-flow compartment and the capillary element is no longer lapped against by the ink.

  • Patent number: 7513501
Abstract: Paper feeding device (33) for ink jet photographic printers, comprising a paper feeding motor (83) for preparing and feeding sheets to be printed (26) for printing. The feeding device (33) is characterized in that it comprises a changeover mechanism (149) disposed downstream of the paper feeding motor (83) and suitable for activation in response to predetermined operating conditions of the printer for moving a sheet (26) at high speed in the preparation stage and at high resolution in association with printing.

  • Patent number: 6022013
Abstract: A device (21) for selectively feeding sheets (24, 28) contained in two separate trays (22, 26) by means of a pick-up unit (31), wherein the latter is located between the two trays (22,26). The latter-named (22, 26) are fulcrum-mounted on a structure (33) and are driven alternatively by a motor (61) depending on the latter's direction of rotation so as to be brought selectively into sliding engagement with the pick-up unit (31), and accordingly result in one sheet at a time being picked up and fed from one or the other of the two trays (22, 26). The device (21) is particularly suitable for incorporation in an office machine, such as for example a facsimile system (20) or a printer, for selectively feeding sheets of different types.
