    Abstract: The disclosed invention provides a flat-shaped lightning device where all the components of the lighting unit are embedded in a single-mold, one-piece securing unit made out of a solid matrix. The lighting unit comprises a diffusing panel, a light guiding panel, a light source, a diffusing sheet and may also comprise a gasket and one or more circuit board. All of the parts, in particular, frames, plates, gaskets, that usually constitute the securing unit are replaced with a single-piece solid matrix obtained through a single operation. The lighting device is totally watertight, no parts can be loosened. The invention also provides a method for manufacturing the preferred embodiment of the invention.

    Abstract: A mounting for a door leaf, a fanlight leaf or the like, particularly for an all-glass leaf, has a plane clamping plate (1) and a plane counter clamping plate (2). The mounting can be attached, in the region of an edge recess (3) in a leaf edge (5) of the leaf, to the two opposite surfaces, and the leaf can be pinched between the clamping plate (1) and the counter clamping plate (2) by means of fastening screws (7) joining the clamping plate and the counter clamping plate. At the clamping plate (1) a web plate (9) is formed extending perpendicular to the clamping plate, which web plate, in the assembled condition, spans over the distance between the clamping plate (1) and the counter clamping plate (2) extending through the edge recess (3). The counter clamping plate is provided with a rectangular recess (17, 41) being adapted to the shape of the free end of the web plate (9), the web plate in the assembled condition engaging by means of its free end with the rectangular recess (17, 41).

    Abstract: A metal fitting for an all-glass plate member for use as a door, window or the like and including a pair of clamping plates positioned on the opposite face surfaces of the plate member and covering a recess through the plate member. Each clamping plate has an elongated recess aligned with the recess in the plate member. The recess in the plate member and the recesses in the clamping plates define a receiving space for a hinge member. The hinge member is formed of at least two hinge member parts each associated with a different clamping plate with the hinge member plates located within the receseses in the clamping plates. The clamping plate recesses have a pair of shoulders each located at an opposite end of the recess. The hinge member parts bear against the shoulders. The hinge member includes an intermediate part located within the recess in the plate member. On one side the intermediate part has a projecting region in contact with one of the hinge member parts.

A fitting, e.g. a flanged rail mortice lock (9) is provided between the two clamping rail sections (5, 7) fixed to both clamping rail sections (5, 7) preferably via spacer members (17, 19). It is not necessary to mill rebates into the preferably extruded profiles of the clamping rail sections for accommodating the lock. Cover strips are fitted in positive engagement, releasably to the clamping rail sections (5, 7).

    Abstract: A valve for adjusting the closing speed of a door closer includes a generally cylindrical valve member having a tubular portion and a solid portion. The valve member is received with sliding contact in a blind-end bore of a valve body. The wall of the tubular portion of the valve member has an opening which is positionable into communication with an inlet conduit provided in the valve body in such a way that an axial adjustment of the valve member changes the cross-sectional area of the passage created between the inlet conduit and the opening. A body of elastic foam material with closed-wall cells is arranged in the interior of the tubular portion and is placed across the opening. In operation, fluid flowing through the valve applies pressure to the body and presses it away from the opening, so that the fluid can flow between the wall of the tubular portion and the body of elastic foam material without creating a hissing sound.

    Abstract: An axially extending closer shaft for a door closer is made up of an axially extending first section mounted in a door closer housing and an axially extending second section aligned with and connected to the first section and located outside of the housing. A plurality of annular grooves are formed in the second section extending perpendicularly of the shaft axis and spaced apart in the direction of the shaft axis. The second section can be cut to the desired length in the plane of one of the grooves. The first and second sections can be connected together by a plurality of bolts extending in the axial direction of the shaft or by a single shaft and coupling balls positioned within recesses in the first shaft and in bores in the second shaft.

    Abstract: The edge fitting assembly for the bottom edge of a glass door includes two bars elongated in a common, horizontal direction and spaced from each other at right angles to the common direction. Two fastening blocks are releasably secured in longitudinally spaced relationship between the bars and at least partly covered by the bars. The blocks define respective, upwardly open, aligned grooves in which the bottom edge of the door panel is received. Each bar is enveloped by a cover of sheet material which is locked to the bar by an elongated locking member simultaneously received in a groove formed in one of the two narrow edge portions of the bar and a groove defined in the portion of the cover which envelops the edge portion in such a manner that the cover cannot move away from the wide face portion of the bar which connects the edge portions.
