  • Patent number: 6258522
Abstract: The present invention relates to a light-sensitive emulsion, and a light-sensitive photographic material containing the same, comprising silver bromoiodide grains of a core shell structure comprising a) an inner core consisting essentially of silver bromide or silver bromoiodide, the silver iodide content of said inner core being within the range of 0 to 10 mole %, and b) a plurality of shells consisting essentially of silver bromide or silver bromoiodide, wherein a pure silver iodide phase representing from 0.1 to 5 mole % of the total silver halide grain content is interposed between two adjacent shells, and wherein at least one of said adjacent shells has a silver iodide content higher than 5 mole %.

  • Patent number: 5576169
Abstract: A core-shell silver bromoiodide emulsion having an inner core portion consisting essentially of silver bromoiodide and an outer shell portion consisting essentially of silver bromoiodide, wherein said inner core portion has a silver iodide content ranging from 30 to 50 mol %, said outer shell portion has a silver iodide content ranging from 1 to 10 mol %, and the average total silver iodide content ranges from 5 to 12 mol %, and wherein the ratio between the area of the X-ray diffraction peak corresponding to said outer shell portion and the area of the X-ray diffraction peak corresponding to said inner core portion is higher than 9:1.

  • Patent number: 5077189
Abstract: Light-sensitive silver halide photographic materials are disclosed comprising a support and silver halide emulsion layer or layers, wherein at least one of said silver halide emulsion layers contains tabular silver halide grains having an average diameter:thickness ratio of at least 3:1 and at least one resorcinol. The light-sensitive materials can be advantageously used in high temperature processing without causing serious fog problems.
