  • Publication number: 20100034928
Abstract: The present invention relates to printed antifog films suitable for the packaging of food products having an improved ability to maintain their antifogging properties after being wound up into a roll and to the packages obtained therefrom. The films of the invention comprise an overprint varnish applied over the printed image on the antifog film, said overprint varnish comprising a vinylidene chloride polymer and a surfactant. The printed antifog film may be manufactured using conventional equipment by applying an overprint varnish in the final print station of the printing process.

  • Patent number: 6558760
Abstract: The sealability of a thermoplastic, mono- or multi-layer film having an irradiated sealing layer comprising a polyethylene and/or an ethylene-x-olefin copolymer with a density ≧0.915 g/cm3 is improved by corona treating said sealing layer. The integrity of the obtained sealed container is maintained under pasteurizing or cook-in conditions.

  • Publication number: 20020068137
Abstract: The invention refers to a thermoplastic, multi-layer, heat-shrinkable film having a sealing layer comprising a blend of a propylene co-polymer or ter-polymer with from about 5 to about 40% by weight of an EPDM elastomer. The film also comprises a core gas-barrier layer, preferably comprising EVOH, and an outer abuse layer, typically comprising a polyolefin or a polyamide. The film is converted into containers, such as bags or pouches, by sealing it to itself and employed for cook-in and pasteurization applications. With the new films it is possible to better control the decay with aging of the seal strength of the factory seals of these containers.
