  • Patent number: 10158166
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for applying a conformal coating to one or more radio frequency elements of an antenna or antenna array. Said method is characterized in that the conformal coating is based on a thermoplastic material produced from a mixture comprising a thermoplastic polymer and an olive pomace.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 6, 2014
Date of Patent: December 18, 2018
    Assignee: LEONARDO S.P.A.

  • Patent number: 9035848
Abstract: The invention concerns a device in the domain of AESA (“Active Electronically Scanned Array”) systems required for e.g. radar multifunctional systems with communication capabilities and electronic/analysis countermeasures, providing a constructive element for the realization of modular active radiating panels, which are economic and scalable depending on the system needs, to be used on multi-roles and multi-domains platforms. The architecture according to the invention presents a so-called “tile” architecture and uses a multilayer configuration incorporating the radiating elements, the control and supply controls, the transmitting/receiving (T/R) modules, the cooling system by using vertical interconnections, having a low cost and high integration.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 20, 2013
Date of Patent: May 19, 2015
    Assignee: SELEX ES S.P.A.
Inventors: Leopoldo Infante, Mario Teglia, Armando Ciattaglia
  • Patent number: 8633861
Abstract: Structures and methods for a tunable waveguide radiating element are disclosed. The waveguide radiating element comprises a rectangular tube, which includes partially filled dielectric slabs that are disposed on parallel planes and incident on a lower edge of the element's mouth. The faces of each slab are engraved with a number of concentric SRR squares that present a gap on one of its sides. The distance between any two consecutive slabs may vary. The gaps of the outmost square may be arranged in such a way that, on the facing sides of two adjacent slabs, the gaps are rotated with respect to each other.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: January 21, 2014
    Assignee: Selex Sistemi Integrati S.p.A.
Inventors: Angelo De Luca, Mattia Memoli, Mario Teglia

  • Publication number: 20130036702
Abstract: A shelter having a longitudinal axis and equipped with a parallelepiped-shaped central element or module and two parallelepiped-shaped end elements or modules, which are aligned with the central module along the longitudinal axis and are rigidly connected to the central module at respective opposite axial ends of the central module; the central module has a first framework defined by a plurality of bars and closed by panels carried by the first framework, and each end module has a respective second framework, structurally independent from the first framework and formed by a plurality of tubes connected to one another by means of ISO-standard corner blocks defining the respective external vertices of the shelter.
