    Abstract: Detecting various colors on a surface, whereby a varying distance between a sensor device and the surface is detected, and the sensor device's signals are functionally linked to the varying distance. Measurement of the surface using the sensor device serves the purpose of both detecting the color and detecting the distance between the sensor device and the surface. The color value of the surface is determined depending on the distance of the surface from the sensor device.
