    Abstract: An adapter for mechanically/electrically connecting an implantable electrode, via the proximal connector thereof including at least one connecting contact for the electrode, to at least one test terminal contact of a measuring device, includes an electrically insulating adapter housing, a connector receiving element adapted to connector shape, and at least one contact element disposed in the adapter housing establishing contact between the at least one connecting contact of the connector and the at least one test terminal. A receiving tray, having the receiving element for the connector, is mounted on the adapter housing and variable between open and closed contact positions. In the open position, the connector is inserted in the receiving element in a defined position and removed therefrom. In the contact position, the at least one connecting contact of the connector is brought in contact with the contact element in the adapter housing in a defined manner.
