  • Patent number: 11222086
Abstract: Provided are techniques for finding content on computer networks. A search request having search terms is received. The search request is executed against an index to identify first search results, wherein the index comprises mappings of search terms to web sites and mappings of search terms to patterns. In response to determining that the search request failed based on first search results, an unknown search term in the search terms that does not exist in the index is found. The unknown search term is matched to a pattern of a similar search term using the mappings of search terms to patterns. A candidate web site is identified based on the matching. Additional content is requested from the candidate web site for the unknown search term to identify second search results comprising previously hidden content. The additional content is indexed.

  • Patent number: 11144733
Abstract: Task-oriented messages are presented to a user in an interactive format for disposition. Natural language processing techniques parse task-oriented messages for individual tasks, such as assignments, information requests, and requests for approval or authorization. A user interface provides a recipient of a task-oriented message with selectable tasks for individual, or group, disposition, such as respond, defer, delegate, mark answered, and ignore. Recipients are notified if an incomplete response is generated, such as when an identified task is not dispositioned.

  • Patent number: 11113352
Abstract: Adjusting system actions based on an absence of relationship acceptance may include detecting absence of connection acceptance by one or more first users in a computer-implemented social networking system. Patterns of the absence of connection acceptance of the one or more first users may be correlated. Users with common patterns of absence of connection acceptance may be clustered into a cluster of users. Absence of connection acceptance by a second user may be detected. Responsive to determining that a pattern of the absence of connection acceptance associated with the second user matches with the common patterns, a profile associated with the second user may be updated according to a template profile associated with the cluster. System actions of the social networking system may be activated for the second user based on the profile updated according to the template profile.

  • Patent number: 10432566
Abstract: Determining a reason a user joins a computer-implemented social network service may include automatically monitoring access to content in a social network site by a newly added member of the social network service to form an initial access history of user interactions with the social network site. The initial access history spans a predetermined period of time within a time of the newly added member joining the social network service. The initial access history may be analyzed to determine the reason for joining the social network service by the newly added member. The reason may be automatically leveraged to improve membership participation in the computer-implemented social network service.

  • Patent number: 10348669
Abstract: Increasing social network site interactions or user activities in one aspect may include monitoring social network site activities of a first user on a social network site. Based on the monitoring, a second user of the social network site whose postings the first user follows may be identified. The second user's postings that the first user follows may be classified into a content type. The content type indexed by a pair of identifiers identifying the first user and the second user may be stored in a storage device. A notification may be sent to the second user to post content of the content type to promote social network site interactions or activities of the first user.

  • Patent number: 10318559
Abstract: Text content is received. Map elements, and an associated text content position at which each of the map elements exist, are identified. One or more characteristics for each of the identified map elements are identified and associated with the corresponding identified map element, including the associated text content position. A furthest position of the text content read by a user of a user device is received. A graphical map is generated, displaying map locations of identified map elements and their associated characteristics, where the associated text content position of the identified map elements and the associated characteristics is up to the furthest position of the text content read by the user of the user device. The generated map is transmitted for display on the user device.
