    Abstract: A catalytic converter as subject of the invention comprises fibers, which fibers have a fiber surface. The converter further comprises catalytic material, substantially all of this catalytic material is present on the fiber surface. The fibers are present in the catalytic converter as discrete fibers. A method for making the catalytic converter comprises providing a bundle of discrete fibers, coating them with catalytic material and inserting the coated bundle into a can.
