Abstract: The present invention generally relates to the collection and distribution of business reviews. Specifically, this invention relates to a system and method for collecting business reviews in a manner that improves the granularity of information that can be collected, allows for the needs of various different third-party review providers to be met, and prevents tampering and falsification of business reviews. Reviews with various levels of verification or validation are kept in a central database that can be accessed by multiple external business review providers. Review providers can choose which level of validation they find acceptable and use only reviews from the database that meet their requirements.
