Abstract: A survival aid which includes an inflatable floating body provided with a compressed gas cartridge for inflating the floating body, a bag for accommodating the floating body in an uninflated state, the bag being provided with looped tabs and a securing pin which extends through the looped tabs whereby upon the removal of the securing pin from the looped tabs, the floating body is released from the bag in an inflated state.

Abstract: A survival aid for swimmers and for those taking part in water sports includes an elongate inflatable buoyancy body, a pressurized gas cartridge that can be coupled to the buoyancy body via a coupling member, and a bag in which the buoyancy body can be folded up and/or rolled up. The bag has a first wall, a second wall, a base, at least a first side, and an opening lying opposite the base. Two first eyelets spaced apart from each other extend from the top edge of the first wall opposite the base. From the top edge of the second wall a second eyelet extends in such a way that it comes to lie between the two first eyelets when the eyelets are pivoted towards one another. In addition, a safety splint is provided which can be pushed into the eyelets in such a way that it extends through the eyelets in the non-operating state. A pull element extends from an actuation element of the coupling member of the pressurized gas cartridge to the safety splint, to which it is coupled in a tension-proof manner.
