Abstract: Nematicidal compositions which comprise as active ingredient compounds of formula I ##STR1## wherein R is nitro or halogen, and also processes for the preparation of the compounds of formula I, novel intermediates of the preparation process and methods of using the compounds and the compositions in the control of nematodes are described.

Abstract: Benzimidazolesulfonic acid derivatives of the formula I ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 is an unsaturated 5-membered heterocycle having not more than two hetero atoms N and/or S or is an unsaturated 6-membered heterocycle having not more than two N atoms, it being possible for each of the heterocycles to be substituted, and X is oxygen or sulfur, while R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and n are as defined herein, are valuable microbicides. They can be used in crop protection in the form of suitable compositions, for example for controlling fungal disease.

Abstract: Benzotriazolesulfonic acid derivatives of formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sub.3 =R.sub.4 X and R.sub.4 is an unsaturated 6-membered heterocycle having a maximum of 2 nitrogen atoms, it being possible for the heterocycle to be substituted, and X is oxygen or sulfur, while R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are as defined herein, are valuable microbicides. They can be used in plant protection in the form of suitable compositions, for example for controlling fungal diseases.

Abstract: Novel 3-aryl-4-cyanopyrrole derivatives of the general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each independently of the other unsubstituted or halogen-substituted alkyl, halogen, nitro or hydrogen, or R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, when taken together, are --OCF.sub.2 O,R.sub.3 is alkyl, cycloalkyl or benzyl, andR.sub.4 is hydrogen or an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal.The novel compounds are used for controlling harmful microorganisms, in particular phytopathogenic fungi. They can be used together with suitable formulation assistants as compositions, and are also suitable for preventing infestation of cultivated plants by harmful microorganisms.

They can be employed in the customary formulation as agrochemical agents.

They can be employed in the customary formulation for the control of plant disease.

A compound of this type can be employed in a customary manner in the form of plant-protecting agents formulated with carrier substances and extenders.
