    Abstract: Method and device for transmitting binary signals by means of digital self-synchronizing scramblers, the information of the storage elements used being utilized, in combination with that of the input signal, for detecting the degenerative condition of a long series of identical bits.If the said condition is still existing after a number of consecutive clock periods, a change is made in it by inverting one bit of the input signal.The detection and the inversion also take place at the receiving end, thus ensuring an unerring working of the system.
