Abstract: The present invention relates to E-2-[4-(chloro-1,2-diphenyl-butleny1)phenoxy]ethanol which is useful in lowering serum cholesterol and to pharmaceutical compositions thereof. The invention also describes methods of lowering serum cholesterol and methods for the prevention of or the treatment of atherosclerosis.
