Abstract: A covered feeding or watering bowl for animals that uncovers for the animal for which the food or water is intended through the use of an authentication process which verifies the identity of an animal by a signal transmitted from a transmitter integrated into or onto the animal's collar when the transmitter is within the nominal range for the receiver, and a short-range proximity detector to validate that the animal is in front of the bowl in a feeding position.
