  • Patent number: 11022330
Abstract: A three-way heat exchanger for a liquid desiccant air-conditioning system and method of manufacture. The heat exchanger includes a plurality of panel assemblies. Each panel assembly has a frame bordering a given space. The frame includes desiccant inlet and outlet ports and heat transfer fluid inlet and outlet ports. Two plates joined to the frame define a heat transfer fluid channel in the given space. The heat transfer fluid inlet and outlet ports are in fluid communication with the heat transfer fluid channel. Microporous sheets cover the outer surfaces of the plates and define a desiccant channel. The desiccant inlet and outlet ports are in fluid communication with the desiccant channel. The plurality of panel assemblies have a stacked arrangement such that a microporous sheet on one panel assembly faces a microporous sheet on an adjacent panel assembly and defines an airflow channel therebetween.

  • Patent number: 7560376
Abstract: Two or more coatings applied to processing elements of a plasma processing system are treated with protective barriers or coatings. A method is described for adjoining two or more coatings on the processing element. Having applied a first protective barrier, a portion of the first protective barrier is treated. A second protective barrier is then applied over at least a portion of a region to which the first protective barrier was applied.

  • Publication number: 20090031643
Abstract: A utility meter shield for protecting the utility meter from the weight of snow, fallen tree limbs and the like. The shield has a plurality of arched support members held in a spaced relationship by transverse cross members. An arched cover spans between the arched members, extending over the upper portions and most of the side portions of the arched members. The legs of the arched members rest on the ground on opposite sides of the utility meter. An optional auxiliary cover is secured to the arched cover extending between the arched cover and the building structure for protecting conduits leading from the utility to the structure. A screen can be secured to the front arched member for further protection.

  • Patent number: 7291566
Abstract: In order to mitigate erosion of exposed processing elements in a processing system by the process and any subsequent contamination of the substrate in the processing system, processing elements exposed to the process are coated with a protective barrier. The protective barrier comprises a protective layer that is resistant to erosion by the plasma, and a bonding layer that improves the adhesion of the protective layer to the processing element to mitigate possible process contamination by failure of the protective layer.

  • Patent number: 7007565
Abstract: A meshing gear assembly includes a toothed disk that is supported on a first gear so as to be frictionally engaged therewith, but rotationally and radially movable relative thereto. The circumferential width of each tooth formed on the toothed disk is preferably larger than the circumferential width of each tooth formed on the first gear, and the outer diameter of the toothed disk can be larger than the outer diameter of the first gear. The first gear and the toothed disk mesh with a second gear such that as the second gear rotates, the toothed disk and the first gear also rotate. However, the toothed disk and the first gear rotate at different speeds because the difference in the number of teeth formed thereon. Because the teeth formed on the toothed disk have a larger circumferential thickness and a larger outer diameter than the teeth formed on the first gear, a tight meshing engagement with the second gear is provided.

  • Patent number: 6507163
Abstract: A bridge surface preparation, maintenance and painting system has a truck-mounted man lift with an extensible platform on which robot arms and cameras are mounted. Inflatable bags isolate the area of the bridge being worked on, and an apron catches debris such as from sand blasting. An operator sits at a remote control console on a truck, directs the man lift platform into position, controls the inflating of the barriers and operates and guides the robot arms through master-slave controls while watching video displays. The machine is used for surface preparation, undercoating, finish coat painting and bridge inspections.
