  • Publication number: 20240238614
Abstract: LED-based assemblies/systems and methods for infection prevention and treatment are disclosed. The assemblies/systems include an optical head unit including LEDs and LED drivers, the LED drivers configured to control emission of light from the LEDs at one or more selected wavelengths. The assemblies/systems also include a base that selectively and operatively couples to the optical head unit to provide a consistent distance to a target site and prevent light emitted from the LEDs from escaping into an environment surrounding the target site. A phototherapy method for treating tissue includes (i) connecting an optical head unit to a base, (ii) disposing the base to surround a target site; and (ii) controlling output of LEDs in the optical head unit to emit light through the base at one or more selected wavelengths, the base preventing the light emitted from the LEDs from escaping into an environment surrounding the target site.
