  • Publication number: 20220331914
Abstract: A method for joining two or more metallic components. The method includes operating a cold-spray apparatus to deposit a feedstock comprising nickel-based alloy particles on a braze region of a first metallic component to form a nickel-containing coating on the braze region. The method also includes brazing the first metallic component and a second metallic component by exposing the braze region to a braze material to form a braze joint that bonds the first metallic component to the second metallic component.

  • Publication number: 20220268444
Abstract: A hydrogen injection scheme can be employed via use of one or more injectors for injecting hydrogen to help entrain local mass while also generating local turbulence that can enhance mixing with a mixture of air and fuel to facilitate enhanced lean combustion, lower peak flame temperatures of combustion, and reduce nitrous oxide (NOx) emissions from the combustion of fuel. In some embodiments, the hydrogen can be injected to help transport heat released during combustion away from the injector to help avoid injector overheating as well. Different injectors can be utilized to provide a desired hydrogen injection scheme for a particular set of design and operational criteria for a gas turbine system or at least one combustion system that can be utilized in a gas turbine system.

  • Publication number: 20220221420
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to various methods and example systems for carrying out analog-to-digital conversion of data acquired by arrays of nanogap sensors. The nanogap sensors described herein may operate as molecular sensors to help identify chemical species through electrical measurements using at least a pair of electrodes separated by a nanogap. In general, the methods and systems proposed herein rely on digitizing the signal as the signal is being integrated, and then integrating the digitized results. With such methods, the higher sample rate used in the digitizer reduces the charge per quantization and, therefore, the size of sampling capacitors used. Consequently, sampling capacitors may be made factors of magnitude smaller, requiring less valuable space on a chip compared to sampling capacitors used in conventional nanogap sensor arrays.

  • Publication number: 20220198945
Abstract: A landing site selection system selects landing sites for unplanned landings for small aircraft. The landing site selection system may generate a landing site database comprising parameters for landing sites. The landing sites may be any location where an aircraft may potentially land. The landing site selection system may monitor aircraft conditions and determine that an unplanned landing may be desirable. The landing site selection system may select potential landing sites based on the aircraft conditions and the landing site parameters. The landing site selection system may display landing site parameters for the selected landing sites to a pilot to allow the pilot to select a landing site. The landing site selection may provide navigation instructions or autonomously navigate the aircraft to the landing site.

  • Publication number: 20220177154
Abstract: A testing system, a testing method, and a training method for the testing system are disclosed. According to an example, a computing system of the testing system processes a set of data streams of test data for a test subject in combination with a previously trained nominal model by, for each parameter of the test subject: selecting a parameter-specific control band defined by the nominal model for the parameter; comparing a time-based series of measurements of the test data for the parameter to the parameter-specific control band for the parameter, and selectively generating a test result for the parameter responsive to whether a condition is satisfied with respect to any of the time-based series of measurements exceeding the parameter-specific control band for the parameter.

  • Publication number: 20220141293
Abstract: A system and method for recovering application authentication with an application server by using an exponential back-off procedure via push notifications is discussed herein. The system allows for authentication of a user account after network outages or service disruptions without traffic overload during recovery. A user equipment (UE) receives a failed registration notification after a failed registration attempt of the user account with an application server associated with the application. A push notification includes an instruction that causes the application to switch from an inactive state to a temporary active state. The push notification is sent from a push notification service in response to a push request from a notification server based on a recovery request from the UE due to the failed registration notification. While the application is in the temporary active state, the instruction further causes the application to request registration with the application server.
