  • Patent number: 6845387
Abstract: There is disclosed a method and architecture for establishing independent, secure, trusted sub-networks within a storage area network (SAN). These virtual private SANs allow secure, managed interconnections between an initiator host and a target storage device or a logical unit number (LUN) indicating a sub-portion of a target storage device. A table of allowable configurations along with a connections database are used to ensure proper, allowable data connections.

  • Patent number: 5202816
Abstract: The present invention features a system for cooling a plurality of circuit boards in a high density chassis. The system includes a circuit board enclosure assembly having a number of slots for supporting a plurality of circuit boards. A filter is disposed beneath the circuit board enclosure assembly for filtering air flowing into the circuit board enclosure. The filter also creates air turbulence, and provides a pressure head adjacent the plurality of circuit boards. An air flow is generated by a dual cage type blower that is offset from the circuit board enclosure assembly. The air flow to the circuit boards is at sufficient air pressure and air flow rate to carry heat from the circuit boards. A multi-channel plenum disposed between the dual cage type blower and the circuit board enclosure assembly diffuses and directs the air flow to the circuit board enclosure assembly in a substantially flat profile.

  • Patent number: 5172305
Abstract: The present invention features a circuit board enclosure assembly for housing a power supply and circuit boards in operative juxtaposition. A housing has a power supply access portion comprising an opening in a top portion thereof covered by a lid. An interior portion of the housing supports the power supply and the circuit board cage. The cage has a plurality of slots supporting the circuit boards. The power supply is operatively connected to the plurality of circuit boards, and is pivotably mounted upon the housing by means of a pair of hinges disposed adjacent the power supply access portion. This allows for easy accessing and substantial removal of the power supply from the interior portion of the housing, while maintaining operative connection with the plurality of circuit boards.

  • Patent number: 4586185
Abstract: A passive thermal control system for a flashlamp-pumped dye laser utilizes heated deionized water in a heat exchanger located in the reservoir of the dye lasing solution to minimize the temperature gradients in the dye lasing solution by decreasing the difference in temperature between the dye lasing solution and the deionized water flashlamp coolant.

  • Patent number: 4420255
Abstract: A research type burner is provided which permits ready optical access for study of precombustion and primary reaction zones of adiabatic flames of premixed gases. The burner includes a channel for relatively laminar gas flow having an outlet with a pair of essentially parallel closely spaced knife edges for providing an essentially stable and adiabatic flame. The knife edges project sufficiently above the burner housing to allow the passage of a laser beam between the knife edges through the zone to be studied.

  • Patent number: H195
Abstract: A research burner having a water-cooled hemispherical head provided with a urved upper surface adapted as a seat for a flame which is surrounded by a shroud of inert gas. The burner provides for optical access to the various zones of the flame under study for both temperature and concentration of species in a compatible mixture.
