The present invention provides both bioadhesive and bioerodible confectionery formulations and methods of making and using the same; more specifically, the present invention provides delivery systems to release flavors, sweeteners, cooling agents, active ingredients and the like to consumer for an extended period of time. Further, these confectionery products may also provide a venue to mask off notes and bitter flavors of drugs or other active ingredients to consumers.
