  • Publication number: 20230272809
Abstract: A system and method for controlling flow of air into an air compressor of an air compressor system includes a proportional solenoid valve configured to control flow of supply air into the air compressor in proportional response to sensed air pressure generated by the air compressor system.

  • Patent number: 9233329
Abstract: Methods and separator suitable for separating a gas from a liquid within a gas-liquid mixture. The separator includes a tank having a sidewall and oppositely-disposed endwalls that enclose an interior of the tank. An inlet to the tank directs a gas-liquid mixture against the sidewall of the tank within a first primary separation section to impart a circumferential flow direction to the mixture along the sidewall and initiate separation of a gas and liquid from the mixture. A reservoir located in a lower region of the tank collects the liquid separated from the mixture. A passage within a second primary separation section receives the gas separated from the gas-liquid mixture through an entrance thereof located in an upper region of the tank, and the passage directs flow of the gas into a secondary separation section, from which the gas exits the tank through an outlet.

  • Patent number: 7165949
Abstract: A rotary screw vacuum pump system includes a vacuum bypass system, which communicates with a first closed cell formed by the rotor system. An air bypass valve within an air communication conduit is controlled by a solenoid valve that operates in response to a pressure switch. The pressure switch is in communication with a vacuum pump suction conduit that draws suction for a suction system attached thereto. The solenoid valve is activated by the pressure switch at a vacuum level slightly below the point at which the undesirable cavitation noise generated at terminal vacuum condition begins.

  • Patent number: 5456582
Abstract: A compressor has an air inlet valve for controlling air intake when demand for service air from the compressor changes. The valve has a housing with an inlet and an outlet which is connected to a compressor. A rod in the housing is movable relative to the housing and has a shoulder and a piston. A movable valve member is mounted on the rod and a spring is interposed between the piston and the housing for moving the shoulder into engagement with the valve member and biasing the valve member toward the closed position. The housing has a chamber on each side of the piston for receiving air that discharges from the compressor. Air pressure is connected to one of the chambers to move the valve member toward the closed position when the pressure of air in the receiver tank exceeds a set-point.

  • Patent number: 5388967
Abstract: A start control for a compressor has an air inlet valve for reducing flow intake when a compressor is started. The valve has a housing with an inlet and an outlet which is connected to a compressor. A rod in the housing is movable relative to the housing and has a shoulder and a piston. A movable plate is mounted on the rod and a spring is interposed between the plate and the housing for biasing the plate toward a closed position in which the housing inlet is at least partially closed. A second spring is interposed between the piston and the housing for moving the shoulder into engagement with the plate and biasing the plate toward the closed position. The housing has a chamber on each side of the piston for receiving air that discharges from the compressor. Air pressure applied to one side of the piston assists the first spring and the second spring move the plate toward the closed position when the compressor is in a start mode of operation.
