  • Publication number: 20230052446
Abstract: A spectral imaging system includes an objective lens system, an optical splitter, a dispersion system, and an optical combiner. The optical splitter is arranged to be in an optical path of an object being imaged through the objective lens system to provide an imaging optical path and a spectrometer optical path. The dispersion system is arranged in the spectrometer optical path. The optical combiner is arranged in the imaging optical path and a path of dispersed light from the dispersion system to combined dispersed light with a corresponding optical image of the object.

  • Publication number: 20220404209
Abstract: An additive manufacturing apparatus includes a laser and a detection system. The laser emits a laser beam to heat a powder bed to form a melt pool, and the melt pool emits light proportional to a temperature of the melt pool. The detection system includes a spectral disperser and one of a) two or more on-axis sensors or b) a line scanner. The two or more on-axis sensors or the line scanner are/is located along an axis of the emitted light, the detection system receives the emitted light from the melt pool, and an intensity of the emitted light detected by the a) two or more on-axis sensors or the b) line scanner is compared with a blackbody spectral map at a particular wavelength of the emitted light to determine a temperature of the melt pool.

  • Patent number: 10860746
Abstract: A system and method is provided for a cryptographic primitive and authentication protocol comprised of micro-cavity resonators at optical wavelengths. A micro-cavity resonator is illuminated with an optical challenge signal and the cavity returns an output response that is dependent on the input signal. Digital signal processing is performed on the output signal to generate a corresponding digital representation. This process is repeated for variations of the input signal with its digital output being stored in a database. A user or object claiming an identity presents a token to the system. The system selects a subset of the available challenge-response pairs and presents the challenges to the token. The system compares the digitized responses with the original responses expected for that token. The system will approve or deny the claimed identity corresponding to the presented token.

  • Patent number: 10124962
Abstract: A roll-formed steel slat for use in a reciprocating floor slat conveyor system. The roll-formed steel slat is formed in a manner so as to have an upper, load-carrying surface, and a pair of downwardly depending side legs. Each side leg terminates in a foot. One foot is vertically offset from the other to provide a “hold-down” function that prevents the slat from vertically rising as the slat reciprocates back-and-forth.

  • Publication number: 20180222684
Abstract: An all-aluminum cross-drive member for a drive unit assembly that is used to reciprocate floor slats back and forth in a conveyor system, The cross-drive member is extruded or milled from a single piece of aluminum, One side of the member carries connecting pieces for linking the member to floor slats, with the member driving the floor slats back and forth as the member is likewise moved lengthwise in back and forth movement, The other side of the member has stiffening ribs that extend lengthwise for giving the member sufficient stiffness to carry loading forces in lieu of the steel cross-drives used in the past.

  • Patent number: 9645377
Abstract: A compressive imaging system includes an illumination system arranged to illuminate an object of interest with illumination light, and a detection system configured to detect at least a portion of the illumination light after being at least one of reflected from, scattered from, or transmitted through the object of interest or to detect fluorescent light from the object of interest and to provide an imaging signal. The compressive imaging system further includes an image processing system configured to communicate with the detection system to receive the imaging signal. The illumination light from the illumination system comprises a plurality of light pulses such that each light pulse has a preselected spectrum that is distinguishable from spectra of all other pulses. The image processing system is configured to form an image of the object of interest using information concerning the preselected spectra of the plurality of light pulses.
