Patent number: 9344235Abstract: Disclosed are network managed volumes that enable simplified and more efficient use of information technology assets by allocating physical disk drives as needed. A pool of storage can be defined and populated with physical disks that are accessible in a storage area network. Virtual volumes are created from the storage pool, with each virtual volume being separately allocable to a host device (e.g., client, application server, etc.). Thus, host devices that have been allocated these virtual volumes perceive ownership of the entire volume, without requiring a present allocation of physical storage space having the same characteristics, but with seamless introduction of physical resources as needed.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 2002Date of Patent: May 17, 2016Assignee: DataCore Software CorporationInventors: Roni J. Publication number: 20070103185Abstract: A method of operation and an apparatus for radiation hardening a combinational logic circuit are presented. A section of logic that is to be radiation hardened is identified. An entire logic circuit or a portion of the logic circuit may be radiation hardened. Once the section of logic is identified, a Field Effect Transistor (FET) is duplicated so as to create a voter FET. The voter FET is coupled with an original node (or signal) and a duplicated node (or signal). If a radiation event strikes either the original node or the duplicated node, the voter FET will prevent an upset from propagating to down stream logic by preventing a conduction path through the voter FET. Additionally, all of the circuitry that was duplicated in order to create the duplicated node may also undergo a radiation event without causing an upset to propagate to downstream logic.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 3, 2005Publication date: May 10, 2007Applicant: Honeywell International Inc.Inventor: Mark Friedman

Publication number: 20070032547Abstract: A new non-invasive, non-toxic, non-sedating method for treatment migraine, tension and post-traumatic headache, atypical facial pain, and cervical muscle hyperactivity (spasm) is presented. This method comprises the application of cold, through the use of a portable thermoelectric cooler, to an intra-oral area of tenderness which has been found to be associated with the above conditions. New portable thermoelectric cooler devices for use with the intended treatment methods are also presented. In one embodiment, the thermoelectric cooling units are directly housed in the U-shaped mouthpiece. In another embodiment, water is chilled thermoelectrically in a container and circulated through the U-shaped mouthpiece. Alleviation of pain is noted within a short period of the onset of the treatment. Repeated treatment even during pain-free periods offers protracted benefits, i.e., prevention or amelioration of the headaches or other conditions.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 4, 2005Publication date: February 8, 2007Inventors: Mark Friedman, Richard Casey

Publication number: 20060078511Abstract: A composition and its use for local percutaneous delivery of a drug, in particular a muscle relaxant, more particularly cyclobenzaprine present in an amount of about 1 to about 10% by weight of the composition in an organogel cream are disclosed. The composition is applied directly to the skin over accessible muscles of mastication from which it is rapidly absorbed through the skin to provide control of conditions such as bruxism and tooth clenching. The composition can also be applied to the skin overlying these muscles to control muscle hyperactivity (spasm) and/or trigger points, from other causes. The composition can be formulated to include another active agent such as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, for example ketoprofen.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 12, 2004Publication date: April 13, 2006Inventor: Mark Friedman

Patent number: 7007765Abstract: A powered wheeled carriage includes a patient support and a wheeled base. An auxiliary wheel mechanism includes an auxiliary wheel spring support for biasing an auxiliary wheel into contact with a floor. Operating a control apparatus moves the auxiliary wheel away from the floor. A drive handle pivots about a single axis to control a drive motor that powers the auxiliary wheel. The drive handle controls driving of the wheeled carriage in forward and rearward directions. A decision/drive circuit ramps the speed of the wheeled carriage for a few second after start-up to prevent a jerking motion. A display/control panel displays the condition of the carriage brake and the condition of the auxiliary wheel to assist an operator.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2004Date of Patent: March 7, 2006Assignee: Stryker CorporationInventors: Keith Waters, Dennis Reed, Mark Friedman, Craig Mulder, Steve Nichols
