  • Publication number: 20230131378
Abstract: A power source for inflation systems. Specific embodiments relate to inflation systems that use an electrically-powered inflation system, wherein the power source of the inflation system is a solid state battery. Particular embodiments may find use in connection with inflating evacuation slides or life rafts on board a passenger transportation vehicle, such as an aircraft or marine vessel. Other embodiments may be used for inflating shelters, life vests, or any other inflatable safety device that requires a rapid inflation.

  • Patent number: 9527249
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for using nonwoven materials for evacuation slides, life rafts, life vests, and other life-saving inflatable devices. The nonwoven materials have a substrate layer with continuous filaments formed in various directions. The substrate layer then has a layer (e.g., a coating or a film or both) on one or both surfaces of the substrate of nonwoven material.

  • Patent number: 9481144
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for using nonwoven materials for evacuation slides, life rafts, life vests, and other life-saving inflatable devices. The nonwoven materials have a substrate layer with continuous filament fibers formed in various directions. The substrate layer then has a first and second layer of polyurethane. The first and second layers of polyurethane may be laminated or coated to a nonwoven substrate of the filament fibers. An isocyanate-based adhesive or primer may be particularly useful in causing cross-linking of the materials to one another.

  • Patent number: 4002059
Abstract: A static monitoring device (such as a corrosion coupon) manipulating apparatus for petroleum pipelines is described which allows the monitoring device to be run in and later pulled out without depressurizing the pipeline. Part of the apparatus can be removed while the monitoring device is in the pipeline, thus greatly reducing the likelihood of damage to the apparatus and pipeline. The removal of a portion of the apparatus also allows this portion to be reused to manipulate monitoring devices at different locations.
