  • Patent number: 11803849
Abstract: The invention teaches a decentralized autonomous organization (“DAO”) that manages a network of micro home businesses via a secure communication environment. A service provider curates active and passive income opportunities and provides training courses for worker users. A worker user selects a home configured to enable their preferred income opportunities then applies for a mortgage. The mortgage is pre-approved then a bridge loan is provided for construction. After construction is completed, the mortgage retires the bridge loan. Then the worker user occupies the home business and generates active and passive income to pay off the mortgage. Each micro home business is a node in the DAO. The DAO is maintained through competitive bids from service provider users. Disputes are resolved by arbitrator users. The internet of things is used to enable proactive maintenance.

  • Publication number: 20230341384
Abstract: Optical sensing of biological targets is provided using a metasurface having guided mode resonances with electric field profiles that extend out from the metasurface. Surface functionalization of such metasurfaces can be used to provide sensing for biological targets, such as nucleic acids, proteins, small molecules, extracellular vesicles, and whole cells. Binding of the target to the surface functionalization can affect the resonance wavelength of the guided mode resonances, thereby providing a sensitive assay for the biological targets.

  • Patent number: 11776722
Abstract: A system and method for perturbing a permanent magnet asymmetric field to move a body includes a rotating body configured to rotate about a rotation axis, a permanent magnet arrangement arranged on the rotating body containing two or more permanent magnets, and a perturbation element. The permanent magnet arrangement is configured such that an asymmetric magnetic field is generated by the permanent magnets about a perturbation point. Actuation of the perturbation element at or near the perturbation point causes a tangential magnetic force on the rotating body and/or the permanent magnet arrangement, thereby causing the rotating body to rotate about the rotation axis. The disclosure may also be used for linear motion of a body.

  • Publication number: 20230299551
Abstract: Self-isolated lasers are provided by using a chiral metasurface in combination with a spin-selective gain medium and symmetry-breaking (i.e., not linearly polarized) optical pumping. In preferred embodiments the chiral metasurface is resonant, thereby proving an integrated optical resonator to support lasing. The chiral metasurface can be the spin-selective gain medium, or it can be formed on a surface of the spin-selective gain medium, or it can be distinct from the spin-selective gain medium.

The system acquires training and run mode workpiece images for acquiring corresponding sets of training and run mode workpiece image data. Each set of image data includes at least first and second color channel workpiece image data corresponding to first and second color channels (e.g., for which ratios between the first and second color channel workpiece image data may be determined as part of synthetic image data to improve the ability of the system to detect defects). The defect detection portion is trained based at least in part on the image data, and is utilized to perform analysis to determine defect images that include workpieces with defects (e.g., for which metrology operations may be performed for measuring dimensions of defects, etc.).

  • Patent number: 11732769
Abstract: A magnetically-coupled torque assist apparatus includes a movable (rotor) magnet configured to rotate about a rotor magnet axis extending through the rotor magnet, and a stationary (stator) magnet. The rotor magnet and the stator magnet have a gap therebetween. There is an equilibrium state position (ESP) of the rotor magnet where forces acting on the rotor magnet are balanced such that the rotor magnet is stationary about the rotor magnet axis. And when the rotor magnet is rotated from the equilibrium state position (ESP) to an elastically stressed state position (SSP), magnetic fields of the rotor magnet and the stator magnet generate a resultant magnetic force on the movable magnet that biases the movable magnet towards the equilibrium state position. In some embodiments, the stator and rotor magnets are configured to create a Halbach-effect magnetic field bloom, which contributes to the magnetic forces.

  • Patent number: 11652346
Abstract: A system and method of protecting the input components of a power supply. An input overcurrent protection module is provided, which may be implemented in firmware, which monitors the input current through an input interface of the power supply. When the input current exceeds a threshold current (i.e., a current above the maximum rating of an input component, such as an input cable), the input current protection module determines whether an input overcurrent event is occurring. When it is determined that an input overcurrent event has occurred, the input current protection module disables the output circuitry of the power supply and triggers a few timers. The input overcurrent protection module continues to monitor the input and, if the input current continues to exceed the threshold current, is configured to shut down the power supply. In this way, input components may be protected from overcurrent issues in high-power systems.
