Patent number: 11961538Abstract: Systems and methods are presented for efficient cross-fading of compressed domain information streams on a user/client device. Exemplary systems may provide cross-fade between AAC/Enhanced AAC Plus information streams, between MP3 information streams, or between information streams of unmatched formats. These systems are distinguished in that cross-fade is directly applied to compressed bitstreams so a single decode operation is performed on the resulting bitstream. Thus, a set of frames from each input stream associated with the time interval in which a cross fade is decoded, and combined and recoded with a cross fade or other effect now in the compressed bitstream. Once sent through the client device's decoder, the user hears the transitional effect. The only input data that is decoded and processed is that associated with the portion of each stream used the crossfade, blend or other interstitial, and thus the vast majority of input streams are left compressed.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2021Date of Patent: April 16, 2024Assignee: Sirius XM Radio Inc.Inventors: Raymond Lowe, Mark Kalman, Deepen Sinha, Christopher Ward

Patent number: 11917254Abstract: A method of and system for handling latency issues encountered in producing real-time entertainment such as games of skill synchronized with live or taped televised events is described herein. There are multiple situations that are dealt with regarding latencies in receiving a television signal with respect to real-time entertainment based on the unfolding games played along with the telecasts. Systemic delays, arbitrarily imposed delays of a broadcast signal and variances in the precise broadcast times of taped television programs have to be equalized so as to provide fair entertainment.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 2021Date of Patent: February 27, 2024Assignee: Winview IP Holdings, LLCInventors: David B. Patent number: 11827549Abstract: A wastewater treatment system is a septic tank adjacent to an aeration chamber. The aeration chamber has a tertiary baffle and a circular current of fluid wherein the circular current produces a down flow current of liquid past the tertiary baffle. This current prevents suspended particles from passing through the tertiary baffle.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2022Date of Patent: November 28, 2023Inventors: David Mark Lowe, Richard D. Eldredge

Patent number: 10308536Abstract: The present invention is a wastewater treatment system utilizing a recirculating filter system comprising sand, gravel, or synthetic media. Septic effluent is continuously, or approximately continuously, dosed under pressure to the treatment media through pressure compensating drip irrigation emitters. The dosed effluent is treated and dispersed into a dispersal field using double coiled distribution lines that can alternate flow through emitters to rest the dispersal field. The double coil dispersal lines allow more emitters per unit area allowing treatment of the effluent more slowly and effectively.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 2018Date of Patent: June 4, 2019Inventors: David Mark Lowe, Richard D. Patent number: 8889007Abstract: The present invention is a wastewater treatment system utilizing a recirculating filter system comprising sand, gravel, or synthetic media. Septic effluent is continuously, or approximately continuously, dosed under pressure to the treatment media through pressure compensating drip irrigation emitters. The system comprises a commonly known septic tank and recirculation tank. Septic tank effluent is collected in the recirculation tank, from which it is continually dosed by means of a pump to the top of the treatment media of the recirculating filter through pressure compensating drip emitters. Continuous dosing of diluted residential septic tank effluent through drip irrigation emitters provides a slow consistent application of liquid rich in organic material and pathogens over the treatment media. The treated effluent is then recirculated if water is low or went to final disposal.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 2011Date of Patent: November 18, 2014Inventors: David Mark Lowe, Richard D. Eldredge

Publication number: 20100139294Abstract: A fluid chiller system supplying cold fluid to a therapeutic wrap, in which a minimum level of fluid flow is provided through the heat exchange coils to insure that the fluid in the coils does not freeze. A fluid flow meter or pressure sensor connected inline with the inlet port of the chiller unit measures a level of fluid flow. A controller is connected to the flow meter or pressure sensor and a bypass valve, wherein based on a signal from the flow meter or pressure sensor, the controller adjusts the bypass valve to provide a predetermined level of fluid flow into the inlet port of the chiller unit, in order to prevent the heat exchange coils from freezing, if the flow through the wrap is blocked.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 5, 2008Publication date: June 10, 2010Inventors: Mark Lowe, Krister Bowman

Publication number: 20100145421Abstract: In general, the present invention incorporates a cooling or heating wrap having internal channels to circulate a chilled or warmed fluid, with one or more layers of a thermo-conductive material to eliminate air pockets or gaps between the wrap and a human or animal body part. The thermo-conductive material may be applied directly to the human or animal skin and/or body part, may be encapsulated in a separate unit, or may be integrated into the wrap itself. The thermo-conductive material acts like a heat conduction medium between the heat exchanging wrap and the anatomical body part, to increase the therapeutic effect of the wrap.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 5, 2008Publication date: June 10, 2010Inventors: C. Publication number: 20100051523Abstract: The LoweFlow Filter wastewater treatment system is a recirculating filtering system intended to treat typical residential septic tank effluent. Septic effluent is continuously (or near continuously) dosed under pressure to the treatment media through pressure compensating drip irrigation emitters. Wastewater trickles down through the media where it is attenuated through physical, chemical, and biological means. Treated wastewater or filtrate collected from the bottom of the recirculating filter returns to the recirculating tank, either by gravity flow or under pressure, through the flow splitter. During periods of low or no wastewater flow, a flow splitter will allow all of the filtrate from the treatment filter back into the recirculation tank. During periods of moderate or high wastewater flow, the flow splitter will allow all or a portion of the filtrate to be diverted for final disposal.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 19, 2009Publication date: March 4, 2010Inventors: David Mark Lowe, Richard D. Eldredge

Patent number: 7258026Abstract: A sensor for measuring a parameter applied to a surface is provided. The sensor includes at least one substrate layer, a plurality of individual sensor elements operatively arranged with respect to the substrate layer, and a conductive trace disposed on the substrate layer. The conductive trace is electrically coupled to an individual sensor element and wraps around at least a portion of the sensor element in a spiral-like manner. Further, by employing slits or cut-outs of material between sensor elements, a sensor element may move independent of an adjacent sensor element, thereby allowing the sensor to conform to an irregularly shaped surface or otherwise when subject to relatively large deflections. The sensor may be employed to detect force distribution of a seating surface, such as a seat cushion of a wheelchair.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 2005Date of Patent: August 21, 2007Assignee: Tekscan IncorporatedInventors: Thomas Papakostas, Christopher George, Charles Malacaria, Mark Lowe
