  • Publication number: 20230112383
Abstract: A lock with an extended bolt throw comprising a back plate, a locking bolt having a rack gear profile on at least a portion of one side, slidably mounted to the back plate movable between a first position and a second position. An accelerator gear mounted to the back plate movable along an arcuate path between a first and second position. The accelerator gear comprising a curved edge having teeth which engage the rack gear profile of the locking bolt, and an opposing edge having a centrally located notch for engagement of a cam of a lock cylinder. Wherein as the cam rotates about the lock cylinder it engages the notch and urges the accelerator gear from the first position to the second position, which urges the locking bolt from the first position to the second position.

  • Publication number: 20190011657
Abstract: A mechanical fuse (100), (500) for an ADSS cable comprises a continuous length of ADSS cable, one or more anchors (15), (520), (530) for supporting the ADSS cable relative to a (pylon 7), and a knife, pin or the like (7), (630) which can kink, bend and/or cut the ADSS cable in a breaking region. When a load in excess of a predetermined amount is applied to the ADSS cable, for example when the ADSS cable is snagged by a vehicle, the mechanical (fuse 100), (500) breaks or separates causing the pin or knife ((7), 630) to facilitate breaking of the ADSS cable in the breaking region. A method of attaching an ADSS cable to a support (7) is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9279442
Abstract: An elastomeric cap for concealing a fastener used to secure an object (e.g., an elastomeric object such as foam padding or the like) to a substrate (e.g., frame, wall, etc.). A head of a fastener may be inserted through an aperture in one wall of the cap and into an internal cavity of the cap. A shank of the fastener may be at least partially inserted into or through an aperture of the object (e.g., and the substrate). A tool (e.g., screwdriver, torque wrench, etc) may be inserted through an opposing aperture in an opposing second wall of the cap and used to manipulate the fastener head and thus the shank to secure the object to the substrate via clamping of the object between the fastener head and opposing second wall of the cap on one hand and the substrate on the other hand.

  • Publication number: 20150327331
Abstract: A method for attaching padding material to a surface of a structural component, e.g., a lap bar or other park ride vehicle component. The method includes positioning a laminated sheet onto the surface of the structural component, with the laminated sheet including an adhesive material and a heating element. The method includes positioning a pad formed of the padding material onto the surface of the structural component, with a surface of the pad abuts an exposed surface of the laminated sheet. Further, the method involves connecting the heating element to a power source and then operating the power source to activate the heating element. The padding material may include ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), and the adhesive material then is compatible with EVA. The adhesive material may be provided in first and second layers, and the heating element is sandwiched between the first and second layers in the laminated sheet.

  • Patent number: 8973300
Abstract: An insect trap for use in trapping and exterminating crawling insects including bed bugs. The trap includes a pit fall trap assembly with sidewalls defining a pit or well and a heat source positioned within the pit. The trap includes a controller assembly with a controller selectively operating the heat source, which includes a base plate provided at a bottom of the pit. In this way, the base plate provides the floor or lower surfaces of the pit upon which insects fall and also to which the insects are attracted by the thermal lure of the heat source. The inner surfaces preferably include a layer of anti-traction material (such as UHMW tape or the like) such that the insects cannot climb back out of the pit. The controller operates to alternate the heat source between a lure temperature mimicking a blood host and a higher temperature to exterminate trapped insects.
