  • Publication number: 20130015103
Abstract: One exemplary embodiment can be a catalyst for catalytic reforming of naphtha. The catalyst can have a noble metal including one or more of platinum, palladium, rhodium, ruthenium, osmium, and iridium, a lanthanide-series metal including one or more elements of atomic numbers 57-71 of the periodic table, and a support. Generally, an average bulk density of the catalyst is about 0.300-about 0.620 gram per cubic centimeter, and an atomic ratio of the lanthanide-series metal:noble metal is less than about 1.3:1. Moreover, the lanthanide-series metal can be distributed at a concentration of the lanthanide-series metal in a 100 micron surface layer of the catalyst less than about two times a concentration of the lanthanide-series metal at a central core of the catalyst.

  • Patent number: 8317106
Abstract: The present invention relates to an attachment arrangement that comprises a body, an attachment component and a fastener. One of the body (20) and the attachment component defines a protrusion (22) and the other of the body (20) and the attachment component defines a recess configured to receive the protrusion (22). The fastener is operative to resist separation of the body (20) and the attachment component when the protrusion (22) is received in the recess. Each of the protrusion (22) and the recess defines a surface profile (28, 30) with the surface profiles cooperating with each other to force the body (20) and the attachment component progressively apart from each other against the operation of the fastener as the body (20) and the attachment component are rotated in relation to each other when the protrusion (22) is received in the recess.

  • Publication number: 20120279065
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for removing barrel nuts used for securing a plurality of studs to a turbine blade. Each stud is individually coupled to a respective barrel nut such that each barrel nut is anchored to a root end of the turbine blade. The barrel nut is heated to a predetermined temperature using a controller and a thermocouple. An adhesion between the barrel nut and the turbine blade is overcome and the barrel nut is extracted from the turbine blade. The barrel nut is removed from the turbine blade by connecting an extractor assembly or barrel nut removal device. This is accomplished from an interior surface of a root end of the turbine blade such that this method allows one to remove and replace barrel nuts while the turbine blade remains attached to the hub.

  • Patent number: 7778002
Abstract: An ignition apparatus includes a transformer having a central core, a primary winding disposed thereabout, a secondary winding disposed outwardly of the primary winding, and an outer core or shield disposed outwardly of the secondary winding. The central and outer cores and the primary and secondary windings define a magnetic circuit through which magnetic flux flows during various phases of operation. An end-of-spark natural ringing of the secondary voltage is suppressed and limited by a control winding disposed in relation in the magnetic circuit. The control winding has a pair of terminals across which is connected a diode. The diode is oriented so that during a spark event, it is reverse biased but after the spark event it becomes forward-biased when the secondary voltage is positive so as to selectively facilitate dissipation of any residual electrical charge.
