  • Patent number: 5570532
Abstract: A fish strike sensor adapted to mount on various surfaces and includes a cradle for supporting a fishing rod and reel. The fish strike sensor includes a movable spring retainer that releasably retains a portion of the fishing line such that when a fish strikes the bait on a fishing line the removable retainer moves a certain distance with the fishing line at which point the line is released. When the removable retainer moves, a switch is actuated which activates a buzzer and LED.

  • Patent number: 4877956
Abstract: A closed feedback control system for injecting radioactive material into a high pressure well stimulation fluid line is provided which allows the injection rate to be controlled based upon desired and actual values. A controller calculates a desired injection rate based upon job characteristics, compares the desired rate, and then uses a PID algorithm to control the injection rate until the actual and desired rates are equal. Additionally, the injection system is controllable by a manual control device affixed to the previously mentioned controller, or by utilizing a separate manual control unit.

  • Patent number: 4864128
Abstract: A method of introducing a radioactive substance into a well using a reusable radioactive material shipping container. The container for holding the radioactive substance to be injected directly into a flow stream includes a cartridge portion, defined by a receptacle member having a cavity in which the substance is to be carried and a channel through which the substance is to be injected into the flow stream, and an injector portion, defined by a plunger member retained within the cavity of the receptacle member. One or more end closure members can be connected, such as by clamps, to one or more respective ends of the receptacle body. In certain embodiments a valve is disposed in the channel of the receptacle member.

  • Patent number: 4712618
Abstract: A transportation assembly includes a single container having a primary confinement receptacle and a secondary confinement receptacle in which the primary confinement receptacle is retained. In the preferred embodiment the primary confinement receptacle has two reservoirs defined in it, one of which is for storing and transporting a radioactive substance and the other of which is for storing and transporting a diluting substance in which the radioactive substance is to be diluted at a location, such as a well site at which a radioactive tracer injection operation is to be performed. A system incorporating such a container and a method of using it are also disclosed.
