  • Patent number: 9832300
Abstract: A method and apparatus for contextually managing contact priorities based on travel includes an electronic device configured to determine a travel destination remote from a home location for the electronic device and to determine a set of individuals who will be located at the travel destination. The electronic device is further configured to temporarily make one or more contacts for the set of individuals preferred contacts while traveling and to enable a limited-interruption mode on the electronic device while traveling, wherein an audible alert on the electronic device is enabled for preferred contacts and disabled for non-preferred contacts while the limited-interruption mode is enabled.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 7, 2015
Date of Patent: November 28, 2017
    Assignee: MOTOROLA MOBILITY LLC
Inventors: Amit Kumar Agrawal, Craig J Detter, Mark A Rose

  • Patent number: 9438721
Abstract: Embodiments are provided for distinguishing certain transportation modes for an electronic device based on connection signal data. According to certain aspects, the electronic device may determine (458) that it is being transported by a vehicle. The electronic device searches or detects (460) nearby WLAN and/or WPAN signals and identifies (464), based on the detected signals, how many devices are nearby the electronic device. The electronic device compares (468) the number of nearby devices to a threshold amount and, based on the comparison, either initiates (472) a public transportation mode or initiates (470) a driving mode.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 27, 2014
Date of Patent: September 6, 2016
    Assignee: Google Technology Holdings LLC
Inventors: Mark A Rose, Simon Azriel, Eva Bills Lacivita, Akila Varadarajan

  • Patent number: 5495064
Abstract: A method for the immobilization of heavy metal contaminant from a liquid medium containing sulfuric acid and one or more acids of phosphorus, for example in the treatment of acid raffinates generated during the purification of phosphoric acid. The method includes the steps of (i) neutralizing the liquid medium with a stoichiometric excess of an alkaline earth metal oxide to form agglomerates, and (ii) treating the agglomerates with water to form a solid cementitious material wherein the heavy metal contaminants are substantially chemically isolated.

  • Patent number: 4382066
Abstract: Uranium is extracted from wet process phosphoric acid by extraction with a mixture of a diorganophosphate and a neutral phosphorus compound, which is preferably a triorgano phosphine oxide, in the presence of nitrate to form an organic extract layer containing uranium and an aqueous acid layer, which are separated.
