    Abstract: Systems and methods consistent with the present invention provide a data processing system for extending the business data associated with a collaboration tool engine to include spatial reference information for collaborative visualization. The engine has business data type schemas for generating an information store container associated with a respective business data element. A control specification having an information store type schema identifying a corresponding spatial data type schema is provided to the engine. In response to a request, a new information store is generated based on the business type schemas. A roster identifying the information store type schema is provided to the requester. In response to another request, the data processing system generates, via the collaboration tool engine, a spatial reference point container in the new information store for the information store type schema based on the spatial data type schema identified by the information store type schema.
